Anantnag, Apr 13: Two boys lost their lives after slipping into river Jhelum in the Padshahibagh area of Bijbehara in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Monday, officials said.
An official said that the incident occurred when the duo accidentally fell into the river.
He said that soon after the incident came to light, rescue teams were pressed into service and rushed to the spot.
The identities of the deceased are yet to be confirmed, while further details are awaited.
Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated investigation.
