RAMBAN: On about 40 km of track and tunnels between Banihal and Sangaldan Railway Stations, the first Electric Train trial run from Banihal to Khari to Sangaldan section on Banihal-Katra portion of Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project in Ramban was successfully completed. The engineers of Northern Railway, Firozpur Division, have successfully completed the 25 KV railway electrification work between Khari-Sumbar-Sangaldan Stations. The engineers from Konkan and Ircon International Limited, who were hired by Northern Railway for the USBRL Project, have also reported thatHigh-speed train test runs on the recently constructed rail lines between Banihal-Khari-Sumber Stations were carried out earlier in December and January. According to railway officers in Banihal, the first electric engine trial run was successfully carried out late Friday, and the work on the Sumbar and Sangaldan rail lines was completed. The Northern Railway top officers, engineers, and representatives from the construction firms Konkan and IRCON witnessed the electric engine train trial runs, according to the railway officers. It is important to note that the Banihal-Khari-Sumbar-Sangaldan Railway Stations have already undergone completion and are operational. According to Northern Railways sources, the Banihal to Sangaldan segment of the USBRL project is operational and the construction on the train line is nearly finished.
