GANDERBAL: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday said that it was for the first time that a Vice President has resigned in such a manner. He was speaking over the sudden resignation of Jagdeep Dhankar as the Vice President of India. “I wish for his well-being and long life… This is the first time a Vice President has resigned in such a manner. Unfortunately, his health did not allow him to work further… Hopefully, the next Vice President will do justice to the post and the office…” Omar told reporters in Ganderbal. On Monday, in a surprising move, Jagdeep Dhankhar resigned as Vice President, citing health concerns. The reason, however, had few takers. It has led to a flurry of speculation in political circles.
