Terrorist module busted in Baramulla, 3 terrorist associates held

BARAMULLA: In a district in Jammu and Kashmir, the Baramulla Police dismantled a terrorist recruitment programme and detained three members of the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) organisation, according to a statement released on Sunday. During the operation, the police also found evidence, including 30 live AK-47 rounds and three hand grenades, according to the statement. The apprehended suspects have been named in the statement as Lateef Ahmad Dar, a resident of Najibhat, Showkat Ahmad Lone, and Ishrat Rasool, who are both from Pusnaag. According to the statement, all three people were acting as terrorist associates for the LeT group, and it was discovered throughout the inquiry that they had located four young people near Kreeri and were planning to enlist them soon. The statement stated that “the aforementioned three individuals were the brains behind the recruitment module in the general area of Kreeri and were also in contact with active terrorists Umar Lone and FT Usman.” According to the statement, a case has been opened in Kreeri police station under sections UA(P) and the Arms Act, and an inquiry is being conducted.
