Suspicious Object Found Along Srinagar-Baramulla Highway

SRINAGAR, Dec 9: A suspicious object was detected by security forces along the Srinagar-Baramulla National Highway on Monday morning, officials said.
The object, resembling an Improvised Explosive Device (IED), was found near Palpora Palhallan in Baramulla district, triggering alarm in the area. Security forces promptly cordoned off the site and halted traffic on the highway as a safety precaution.
Following the discovery, a Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) was called in to examine the object and determine whether it is an explosive device. Senior officials were at the spot.
The Baramulla Srinagar national highway is used by convoys of the Army, central armed police forces (CAPFs) and VVIPs and the road is sanitized every morning before the movement of convoys.
