KATHUA: To assess the prevailing border security and anti-infiltration grid, SSP Kathua Mohita Sharma, IPS, conducted an extensive visit to the far-flung areas under Police Station Rajbagh, including the Outpost Soffain, on Thursday.
She was accompanied by SP (Operations) Mukund Tibrewal, IPS, DSP (Ops) Pushpa, and other senior officers of the district police.
During the visit, the SSP interacted with Special Operations Group (SOG) personnel, reviewed the camp infrastructure, and inspected the arms and ancillary equipment available with the force.
Given the challenging terrain and proximity to the border, SSP Kathua stressed the importance of frequent mock drills, long-range patrols, and cordon & search operations (CASO) to enhance the operational preparedness and coordination of the security personnel.
She further directed the officers to maintain strict surveillance over Over Ground Workers (OGWs), strengthen police-public cooperation, and remain alert to weather-induced migratory movements along sensitive stretches.
Reiterating Kathua Police’s unwavering commitment, SSP Mohita Sharma said that peace and security across the district will be maintained at all costs, adding that no leniency will be shown towards anti-national elements.
