SRINAGAR: The lowest nightly temperature of the season was recorded at minus 2.6 degrees Celsius in Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir. This indicates that the nighttime temperatures in Kashmir have further dropped. According to information available, the coldest night of the season was also recorded in a few other locations in Kashmir, namely Qazigund and Kupwara. A minimum temperature of minus 2.5 degrees Celsius was recorded in Gulmarg, while minus 2.2 degrees Celsius was recorded in Qazigund. Kupwara in north Kashmir recorded a minimum temperature of minus 3.1 degrees Celsius, while Pahalgam, a well-known tourist destination, recorded a low of minus 4.9 degrees Celsius.
