Singer Honey Singh alleges threats from Canada-based gangster Goldy Brar, case filed

NEW DELHI: On Wednesday Delhi Police registered a case after Honey Singh submitted a complaint alleging threats from Canada-based gangster Goldy Brar through voice notes and calls. According to a senior police official, Hardesh Singh, alias Honey Singh, said that on Monday, a threat call was placed on the phone of his manager Rohit Chabra. The caller identified himself as Goldy Brar and demanded Rs 50 lakh in extortion money. Later, the same number continued to make random calls and leave extortion-related voicemails for his manager.A case has been filed at the Special Cell police station under sections 387 (placing someone in fear of death or great harm in order to extort money) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC based on the complaint, and further investigation is being done, the officer added. Speaking to reporters, Singh stated, “Goldy Brar’s name appeared on threats that I and my team got.I have asked the commissioner of the Delhi Police to protect me and look into the matter. “I have never before received a threat, and I am terrified. We also got some voicemails. These threats came from foreign phone numbers, he claimed. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang member Satinderjeet Singh, also known as Goldy Brar, is accused of killing Punjabi musician Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, also known as Sidhu Moosewala. The charge sheet submitted in the Moosewala murder case claims that Brar was the murder’s planner.
