Sikh Community Has Done A Lot To Protect Sanatan Dharma: Rajnath

Lucknow, Oct 29: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh stated on Sunday that the Sikh community has made significant contributions to preserving Sanatan Dharma and that Sikhs initiated the Ram Janmabhoomi movement, which will always be remembered by Indians. During Prakash Utsav of Guru Granth Sahib, Singh spoke to group in Lucknow’s Alambagh Gurudwara. “The Sanatan Dharma has been well-protected by the Sikh community. No Indian can overlook their effort for Ram Janmabhoomi either, Singh added.“I wanted to share an important fact based on official government records,” he stated. An FIR states that on December 1, 1858, group of Sikhs carrying banners honouring Guru Govind Singh took control of the building and scrawled “Ram Ram” all over the walls. He said, “The Sikhs started the Ram Janmbhoomi Andolan.” Singh claimed that while rights are the topic of conversation these days, duties are not. He declared, “The Sikh community is one whose percentage of those who gave their lives for the country and whose percentage in the Army is greater than their population percentage.”
