JAMMU: Various Sikh bodies under the banner of Sikh United Front (SUF) have declared support to the National Conference-Congress alliance candidates in the Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
While addressing a joint press conference, Sudershan Singh Wazir, Chairman of Sikh United Front along with various Sikh organizations of Jammu and Kashmir including Shiromani Akali Dal J&K, Bhai Kanhiaya Nishkam Sewa Society, Sikh Naujawan Sabha Simbal Camp Jammu, Youth Akali Dal, Istri Akali Dal today said that the NDA government led by BJP has failed on all fronts, especially with regard to the issues of Sikh community are concerned.
The harsh treatment meted out to farmers who remained on the roads near Shambu border and other places while agitating for the rights of the farmers in which about 800 farmers sacrificed their lives towards the uncanny attitude of the NDA government led by BJP and its leaders, speaks volume about the anti -farmer agenda of BJP.
Wazir further said that India is going through its worst time as the country is facing the employment crisis, economic upheaval and the common man is facing hardships every day. Not only this, number of farmers who committed suicide during NDA regime is the highest ever.
He further called upon all the progressive people to vote against the NDA and ensure the victory of NC-Congress alliance in J&K.
While commenting on the international front Wazir said that BJP leaders are unconcerned about happening in surroundings, like Nepal, Maldives, China, Srilanka, Myanmar, Pakistan and especially Bangladesh which was liberated by Indian Army in 1971. To much of a surprise, the Indian establishment has failed to engage with these neighbouring countries and maintain cordial relations with them. It is shocking that a country like Bangladesh has let loose a reign of terror on the minorities especially Hindus who everyday lineup on the Indo Bangladesh borders to crossover to India but BJP which claims to be champions of Hindus is ignoring their plight and poor Hindus are dying every day in Bangladesh because of the uncaring attitude of BJP government.
Several other leaders also spoke on the occasion and extended support to NC-Congress alliance.
