NEW DELHI, Nov 19: Sheynnis Palacios of Nicaragua has won the title of Miss Universe 2023, her nation’s first triumph at the global beauty pageant. The Jose Adolfo Pineda Arena in San Salvador, El Salvador, hosted the 72nd Miss Universe pageant on Saturday night. At the event, Miss Australia Moraya Wilson was crowned the second runner-up, and Miss Thailand Anntonia Porsild came in first. The update was posted on Miss Universe’s official Instagram page. The post said, “MISS UNIVERSE 2023 is @sheynnispalacios_of!” Palacios was crowned by R’Bonney Gabriel of the United States, the 2022 Miss Universe. Palacios defeated contestants from eighty-three other nations, including Miss India Shweta Sharda, who made it into the top 20.Sharda received congratulations from Miss Diva’s official Instagram account on her pageant campaign. “The instant Shweta Sharda, our LIVA Miss Diva Universe 2023, was selected for the Top 20. The country is proud of you, Shweta, and we are so excited to have you back! Sending you lots of love. The organisation thanked you for flying the flag proudly during the @missuniverse pageant in a post. In addition, Erica Robin, the inaugural Miss Universe Pakistan 2023, reached the top 20. At the ceremony, popular American singer-songwriter John Legend gave a performance of his song “All of Me.”
