SRINAGAR, Feb 18: In preparation for Prime Minister Narendra Modi‘s visit to Jammu on Tuesday, security troops in Kashmir have been placed on alert. At numerous locations throughout the city and beyond, police and paramilitary forces are randomly inspecting cars, according to statements made by officials here on Sunday. As a precaution, the officials added, special screening points have been set up at various entry and departure points in Srinagar.Security agencies in the valley have been put on alert to make sure that terrorists do not carry out any subversive operations during the high-profile visit to the Union territory, even though the prime minister would be visiting the Jammu region, they added. Modi will be visiting Jammu and Kashmir for the second time in his second term as president. During his visit to Jammu, the prime minister is scheduled to unveil a number of development projects, such as the Devika river project in Udhampur, the world’s tallest railway bridge over the Chenab River, and the AIIMS hospital in Jammu.Modi is expected to speak at a public rally in Jammu later in the day in addition to remotely starting the first train on the Sangaldan-Baramulla rail link.
