JAMMU: Today in Jaipur, Rajasthan, the three-day conference between Inspector Generals and Director Generals of Police on multifaceted security issues is scheduled to start. DGPs and IGPs from every State and UT in the nation are attending the conference, which will take place at the Rajasthan International Centre (RIC) in Jhalana, either in person or virtually. The Conference will centre on important security issues with multiple facets, such as cyber fraud, pro-Khalistani activities, and terror threats in Jammu and Kashmir. Over 250 officers of DGP and IGP rank were expected to attend the conference, which was scheduled to start at 2:00 pm today.Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to open the conference, highlighting its importance in forming India’s internal security and policing policies. Union Home Minister Amit Shah is anticipated to attend all of the conference’s sessions. According to a representative of the Union Home Ministry, the agenda addresses urgent issues like cybercrimes, pro-Khalistani activities, terror threats, the Maoist issue, the application of newly passed criminal laws, coordination between state police, and general election security plans. The leader of the J&K delegation at the conference, DGP J&K RR Swain, will take an active part in the discussions.Presentations on counterterrorism, internet fraud, cross-border terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir, pro-Khalistani group activities, and left-wing extremism will all be covered during the conference. The conference’s main goal is to give participants a forum for in-depth conversations on new internal security issues while encouraging cooperation and strategic planning. The roadmap for enforcing new criminal laws, investigating futuristic themes in security and policing, and devising responses to the problems presented by new technologies like Deep fake and Artificial Intelligence are among the main items on the agenda. Regular presentations are made in front of the prime minister during the conference, which makes it easier to identify actionable points.The Minister of State for Home Affairs, the Cabinet Secretary, the National Security Advisor, senior government officials from India, the DGP of States and UTs, the heads of central police organisations and armed forces, and senior officials from the Indian government are among the notable attendees. This year’s conference is expected to carry on the tradition of being at the forefront of national security discourse, having previously played a significant role in shaping India’s policing and internal security strategies.
