NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday condoled the loss of lives in the tragic Ramban road accident and announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh from the PM’s National Relief Fund to the next of the kin of each of deceased and Rs 50,000 for the injured. As many as ten people were killed on Friday after a passenger taxi rolled down a deep gorge on the Jammu and Srinagar National Highway. In a post on X, PMO India said, “PM Modi has expressed grief on the accident in Ramban, Jammu and Kashmir. He extends condolences to the bereaved families and prays for a quick recovery of the injured.” “An ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh from PMNRF would be given to the next of kin of each deceased. The injured would be given Rs. 50,000”, the post reads.
