Sonapur (WB), Jan 29: The “Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra,” led by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, began its trek on Monday morning from Sonapur in the Uttar Dinajpur district of West Bengal. According to a party leader, the Yatra started in Chopra and will continue on to Islampur, where Gandhi is expected to speak to a small group of people before arriving in Kishanganj, Bihar. “Rahul ji stayed overnight in Sonapur and departed at around eight in the morning. He is at Islampur now and will probably speak to a small group of people. The leader of the party said that he was travelling to Kishanganj. The Congress leader was greeted by party members and enthusiasts as he drove in a convoy with a high security perimeter surrounding it.After starting in Manipur on January 14, the Yatra moved from Assam into West Bengal on Thursday morning. During the two-day respite, Gandhi travelled back to New Delhi. It is expected to return to West Bengal on January 31 via Malda and depart the state on February 1 after passing through Murshidabad. The Yatra is expected to cover a distance of 6,713 miles in 67 days, passing through 110 districts in 15 states, and ending on March 20 or 21 in Mumbai.
