PULWAMA: Amid inclement weather forecast, the district administration Pulwama on Friday issued an advisory for the people living along the banks of river Jhelum, asking them to refrain from venturing in and around the water bodies and limit their activities until the weather improves. “In view of inclement weather with forecast of rainfall/ floods/ Cloudburst/ Landslide/ Thunderstorm/ Earthquake for seven days from Ministry of Earth science, Indian Meteorological Department. The General and those residing on the banks of river Jhelum its tributaries and streams in particular are advised to refrain from venturing in and around the water bodies and limit their activities till improvement of Weather,” read an advisory from the administration. It also asked the boatmen to not to attempt to cross the river Jhelum at designated ferry points until they have verified the situation. “The General Public of District Pulwama can contact District Emergency Operation Centre (DEOC) and Police Control Rooms for any information and untoward event,” read the advisory.
