SRINAGAR: A delegation of Dr Farooq Abdullah, President JKNC, M.Y Tarigami, CPI(M) Central Committee Member and Dr Mehboob Beg, General Secretary, JKPDP called on LG Sinha at Raj Bhavan.
They sent a message to the Lt. Governor requesting his help with a number of health-related concerns, including the hiring of doctors and paramedical staff at SKIMS in Srinagar.
The Lt. Governor gave the delegation’s members the reassurance that the UT Administration is dedicated to ensuring that everyone has access to good health care and that the delegation’s concerns about manpower will be addressed as soon as possible.
He claimed that in the previous three years, J&K has experienced remarkable growth in its health infrastructure thanks to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “Thanks to our steadfast efforts, J&K now has one of the nation’s strongest public health care systems. Our performance on 10 health parameters is better than the national average, which is a testament to our commitment to quality of life and transformation in the health sector of Union Territory, the Lt. Governor said. “The UT administration is working with sensitivity to ensure that the common man has access to quality healthcare,” he said.
The Lt Governor further mentioned that more than 7000 crores of rupees were used to upgrade district infrastructure, and 881 crores to improve the health infrastructure.
With the opening of two new AIIMS, seven additional medical schools, five additional nursing schools, the upgrading of ten existing nursing schools, and two Bone & Joint facilities, Jammu and Kashmir is revolutionising the nation’s healthcare system.
In order to give the greatest care and guarantee skilled personnel, two cutting-edge cancer institutes, one in each of Jammu and Srinagar, are also being built. The Bone & Joint Hospital in Srinagar is projected to be finished by the end of this year thanks to faster construction.
Every district hospital offers dialysis services, and the Ayushman Bharat-SEHAT Scheme offers universal health coverage of Rs. 5 lakh to every household in Jammu and Kashmir.
Ayushman Bharat is available to about 98% of the population, which has been beneficial for both the middle class and the underprivileged and marginalised members of society. Critical care ambulances were not previously accessible, however they are now on call 24/7 throughout the Union Territory.
Our primary aim, according to the Lt. Governor, is to provide every citizen of J&K UT with accessible, affordable, and high-quality healthcare.
