JAMMU, Jun 15: The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Sunday carried out raids at several places in Poonch district as part of a major operation to break terror networks in the border area.According to officials, searches were conducted at eight locations, mainly targeting the houses of people suspected to be associated with Pakistan-based terror commanders.
Many of these commanders are originally from Jammu and Kashmir, officials said.
According to them, the raids focused on gathering leads about cross-border connections and the possible support system for terrorists operating in the region.
“The operation is part of the ongoing efforts to tighten the security grid and prevent any attempts to revive militancy in the area,” they said.
