SRINAGAR: According to sources, a Jammu and Kashmir Police inspector who was shot and seriously hurt in a terrorist attack in Srinagar in October of this year passed away on Thursday at AIIMS in New Delhi. Masroor Ahmad Wani passed away at AIIMS today despite having been transferred there yesterday for specialised care. According to the police, on October 29, Wani was playing cricket in the Eidgah neighbourhood of downtown Srinagar when he was shot with a pistol at point blank range. After the shooting left the inspector with serious injuries, he was taken to SKIMS in Soura. However, on Wednesday afternoon, Wani was flown in an air ambulance from Paras Hospital in Srinagar to New Delhi.
