Jammu, Oct 30 : A 1,249-page charge sheet in the murder case of a female dentist killed by her male acquaintance was submitted by the Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday. Johar Mehmood Ganai (30) is suspected of stabbing Sumedha Sharma (27), killing her on March 7 at her Janipur home in Jammu. Ganai, a physician, attempted suicide with the same knife.Police said in a statement late last evening that the charge sheet against the accused was filed under sections 309 (attempt to commit suicide) and 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code in a court of law. According to the statement, Superintendent of Police (Headquarters) Ramnish Gupta led a special investigation team that the police had established after the murder.
