SRINAGAR, Sept 24: In the Budgam area of Jammu and Kashmir, police said on Sunday that they had broken up a burglars’ gang two days after the theft and recovered stolen property worth lakhs‘. According to the police, the owner of MB traders filed a written complaint with Police Station Magam on September 20 alleging that during the intervening night of September 19 and 20, several burglars broke into his office at Agrikalan Magam and took cigarette cartons worth Rs 5 lakh. At Police Station Magam, police opened an investigation after filing a case under the pertinent provision of the law. Strenuous efforts were made during the investigations, and numerous suspects with prior criminal histories from other locations outside of Budgam district were interrogated.Three suspects were identified as Mohammadd Yaseen Hajam @ Cobra, a resident of Trikolbal Pattan, Javid Ahmad Sheikh, a resident of Churpora Narbal, and Muzaffar Ahmad Dar, a resident of Reshipora Hanjivera Pattan. During prolonged questioning, the suspects admitted to taking part in the theft, and all the stolen goods were recovered after their disclosure, according to the police. In the current case, the suspects have been detained, and police said more investigation is ongoing.
