SAMBA: Five cows have been saved, a vehicle belonging to Police Station (PS) Ghagwal has been impounded, and Samba Police has stopped yet another effort to smuggle cows. During their vehicle check duty at Naka NHW Tapyal, a police party from Police Station Ghagwal stopped a Mahindra Bolero pickup coming from the Kathua side. The pickup’s registration number was JK08L-8127. Five cows were discovered loaded inside the car during a vehicle inspection. The cows were cruelly tied and being transported illegally without a permit. Kamal Kumar, son of Manohar Lal of Khanpur, Pathankot (Punjab), was the identified bovine smuggler who was taken into custody. At Police Station Ghagwal, a case FIR No. 16/2024 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act, has been recorded, and an investigation has begun.
