JAMMU, Apr 18: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will distribute over 51,000 appointment letters at the ‘Rozgar Mela’ on April 26 at 46 locations across the country including Jammu and Kashmir and address the fresh recruits virtually.Union Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), Incharge DoPT, Dr Jitendra Singh will moderate the `Rozgar Mela’ from New Delhi.
Official sources told the Excelsior that the appointees in the Rozgar Mela belong to different departments but the majority has been recruited in Revenue, Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) and Home.
The Rozgar Mela will be held at a total of 46 locations including the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
While the Prime Minister will distribute appointment letters and address the new recruits virtually, the Union Ministers and Chief Ministers of some States/Union Territories will deliver the job letters physically among youth at 46 locations.
“A total of 51,000 job letters will be given in the Rozgar Mela, which will be 15th since it was started by the Prime Minister with a view to boost employment opportunities,” the sources said.
“Rozgar Mela is a step towards fulfillment of the commitment of the Prime Minister to accord highest priority to employment generation. It will provide meaningful opportunities to the youth for their participation in nation building and self empowerment,” they said.
The Prime Minister will address the youth virtually while the Union Ministers and the Chief Ministers will address them physically at the venues where Rozgar Melas will be held.
April 26 Rozgar Mela will cover nearly a dozen departments of the Central Government where they will get jobs. However, majority of jobs are being given in Revenue, DoPT and Home Department including the paramilitary forces.
Modi had launched Rozgar Mela on October 22, 2022 as a step towards fulfillment of the commitment for employment generation in the country.
“Rozgar Mela is acting as catalyst in further employment generation and provides meaningful opportunities to the youth for their empowerment and participation in National Development directly.
“The new appointees have been inducted into various Central Government Ministries/ Departments/Public Sector undertakings (PSUs)/ Autonomous Bodies including Health and Educational institutes, Public Sector Banks and Administration of Union Territories (UTs) etc. Various Ministries and Departments have organized Rozgar Melas at about 45-50 locations across the country in which several lakh newly appointed candidates have received their letters of appointment so far,” the sources said..
So far, 14 Rozgar Mela events have been organized at national level and this will be the 15th Rozgar Mela.
“The initiative of Rozgar Mela has enabled various Ministries and Departments as well as Government organizations to fill up their vacancies in Mission Mode. This has helped the Departments and organizations to provide high quality citizen services in Schools, Hospitals, Railway Stations, Police Stations, and Tax Offices etc. This has also benefited our defence and security organizations that will be able to better defend our borders and strategic assets,” the sources said.
