KERALA: When Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in the city of central Kerala on Wednesday to attend a women’s convention organised by the BJP, he was greeted with a warm and enthusiastic reception. A lively atmosphere was created by the thousands of people, many of whom were ardent supporters of the Bharatiya Janata Party, who lined both sides of his nearly two-kilometer roadshow from the General Hospital junction to the venue. The Prime Minister landed in a helicopter at the Kuttanallore helipad after launching a number of projects in Lakshadweep and reaching Kochi International Airport. After that, he started a roadshow at Thrissur’s District Hospital Junction with his cavalcade. The roadshow began at 3:40 pm, with the prime minister greeting the people lining the route with both hands while riding in an open car. Many, mostly young people, flocked to multi-story buildings’ terraces and balconies in an attempt to see Modi and give him a wave. From the open car, Modi greeted the people on both sides of the street while wearing a traditional Kerala shawl. BJP state president K Surendran, actor-turned-BJP leader Suresh Gopi, and state Mahila Morcha president Niveditha Subrahmaniyan were riding with him in the decorated open jeep. Party workers showered the prime minister with flowers and greeted him with boisterous slogans as soon as he arrived. With a broad smile, Modi waved back at the gathering.
