JAMMU, Feb 13:Union Minister Jitendra Singh said on Tuesday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will speak at a rally in the Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir on February 20. The Udhampur parliamentary constituency of the Prime Minister’s office’s minister of state was there when the Katra-Delhi Vande Bhart Express train was stopped at the Martyr Captain Tushar Mahajan Railway station. To better serve the locals, a brief pause of the medium-distance superfast express train was implemented at the railway stations at Udhampur and Kathua.“Prime Minister J.K. should come visit J-K. prior to the election code of conduct taking effect. The minister told reporters in Udhampur, “His schedule, which includes launching several projects and a public meeting, has been completed on February 20. The prime minister will open many projects during his visit, including the Shahpur-Kandi Dam project, the Devika project at Udhampur, the highest railway bridge over Chenab in the Reasi district, and the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at Vijaypur in Samba. As part of the continuing prestigious Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Railway Link (USBRL) project, the 1.3 kilometre Chenab rail bridge, which is situated 359 metres above the river bed – 35 metres higher than the famous Eiffel Tower in Paris — forms an essential link in the 111-km stretch from Katra to Banihal. The dream project to connect Kashmir with the rest of the country by train has been delayed for May in order to finish the outstanding work. Modi is also expected to launch the approximately 33-km Banihal-Samber segment, which is ready for train operations, according to the officials.The minister claimed that since the prime minister began his 2014 election campaign following his “darshan” at the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine, Jammu and Kashmir, and particularly Udhampur, have consistently been at the top of his list of priorities. Additionally, he expressed gratitude to the minister of railways for granting the public’s demand that the Vande Bharat train be stopped at Udhampur and Kathua.“We appreciate the railway ministry’s acceptance of our request. After Kashmir is connected to the rest of the country by train in the next two to three months, Udhampur, which is home to the northern command headquarters, would become a significant hub, the minister stated. According to him, the train station has been added to the Amrit Rail station category in order to support its advancement. Similar to how the Kathua district borders Punjab and Himachal Pradesh, the minister stated that the new initiative—the halting of Vande Bharat—will promote trade and industry in addition to helping the youth, particularly the students.
