NEW DELHI: As part of his preparations for the Lok Sabha elections in 2019, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meet with NDA MPs from the northeastern area on Monday. JP Nadda, the leader of the BJP, and the union ministers Sarbananda Sonowal, Kiren Rijiju, and Nitin Gadkari will attend the meeting.Eight northeastern states’ NDA representatives will attend the summit today: Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura, and Sikkim. The Narendra Modi administration has placed a special emphasis on the northeast. Manipur has seen interethnic conflict, and the government is working to bring about peace. Six cluster meetings with NDA MPs from various states have already taken place under PM Modi. A critical state for the BJP-led NDA, MPs from Bihar attended the fifth such conference.Along with Sushil Modi, Chirag Paswan, and Vinod Tawde, other Union Ministers present at the meeting included Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, Nityanand Rai, RK Singh, and Bhupendra Yadav. NDA MPs from Delhi, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Chandigarh, Uttarakhand, Ladakh, and Jammu and Kashmir attended the cluster six meeting. On July 31, NDA MPs began meeting with PM Modi. In the first meeting, sources said, PM Modi urged NDA MPs from West Uttar Pradesh, Bundelkhand, and the Brij area to strengthen their ties with the public, tell them of government initiatives, stay grounded, and give importance to initiatives that have an impact at the grassroots. The same day, PM Modi met with NDA lawmakers from West Bengal, Odisha, and Jharkhand and declared that the alliance’s 25-year journey had been unprecedented and that the NDA intended to continue it. “NDA’s 25-year path has been unprecedented; we must continue it.
