New Delhi, Aug 8 :The INDIA group is characterised by mistrust among its members, according to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who said that the opposition launched the no-confidence motion against his government to test that confidence.He thanked the party’s Rajya Sabha members for the “semi-final” victory in voting on the Delhi services bill and referred to the opposition alliance as “ghamandia” (characterised by arrogance) in his speech to BJP MPs at a closed-door gathering of its parliamentary party, according to several of those present.
According to Modi, who was quoted by Union minister Arjun Ram Meghwal, the opposition tabled the no-confidence resolution even though the government had a solid majority because its members wanted to determine if they were united or not.The prime minister stated that even in the Rajya Sabha voting on the Delhi services bill, the government received more votes than anticipated because the debate demonstrated that its measure was governed by the Constitution.
As he voiced optimism about the BJP’s prospects in the national elections, Modi, sources said, remarked that some opposition members had termed the voting in the Rajya Sabha as a semi-final before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.The Rajya Sabha passed the Delhi services bill on Monday with the support of 131 MPs, while 101 of them opposed the law that will give the Centre control over bureaucracy in the nation’s capital.

Modi instructed his MPs to hit “sixers” on the final ball before the 2024 elections because the ruling party was guaranteed to overcome the no-confidence resolution in the Lok Sabha, where it holds a large majority.
He also made reference to a speech he gave in 2018 in which he had humorously desired for the opposition to file a motion of no confidence against his administration in 2023.In a jab at the opposition parties, the prime minister claimed that while their leaders talk about social justice, their dynastic, appeasement, and corrupt policies actually do more harm than good.
He underlined his demand that appeasement politics, hereditary rule, and corruption leave India.
Meghwal told reporters that on August 9, the prime minister requested that MPs join the party’s call for appeasement, corruption, and nepotism to leave India.
He asked them to plan activities to commemorate the Partition Horrors and to hold silent marches to draw attention to the anguish and suffering caused by the division of India. In the lead-up to Independence Day, Modi also discussed “Har Ghar Tiranga” and other schemes.Modi also tasked party leaders with contacting households to solicit pledges to do their part to help India become a developed nation by 2047. According to Meghwal, pledges would be made by people collectively at various levels, including districts and states.
He added that over 8,500 urns containing soil or grain along with saplings will be brought to Delhi as part of the effort under the banner of “amrit kalash yatra” in order to establish a “amrit vatika” (garden). He added that the effort is anticipated to last until Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s birth anniversary on October 31.
