Jammu, Dec 25: Hon’ble division bench comprising Hon’ ble Chief Justice and Hon’ble Justice M A Chowdhary disposed off the public interest litigation (PIL) after hearing Advocate Sumit Nayyar in the matter Titled Sumit Nayyar Vs Union of India vide order dated 20.12.2023.
Addressing a press conference, Adv. Sumit Nayyar said that the said PIL in which he being the petitioner appearing in person filed this petition in the year 2017 and seeks the implementation of the Project “ Integrated development of Tourist Facilities” by which 97.82 crores have been sanctioned and number of directions have been passed by the Hon’ble Division bench regarding the development of project of Mantalai.
He said that on the last date of hearing on 20.12.2023 status report has been filed by the department that the project of Mantalai has been completed but some shortcomings and deficiencies brought into the notice of Zonal manager NPCC and further they were asked to resolve these deficiencies within the period of five days.
He added that after perusal of the status report, Hon’ble Division. Bench disposed off this litigation with directions that prayer sought by petitioner namely Sumit Nayyar Advocate is allowed with further direction to the authority to consider the remaining issues in accordance with law regarding utilisation of multi-storey building of Dirender Barhamchari at Gandhi nagar , Ashram at Katra.
