SRINAGAR: Large crowds flocked to Lal Chowk in Srinagar to greet the New Year, marking the first time in recent years that Jammu and Kashmir has celebrated New Year’s Day there. A musical event was arranged by the Department of Tourism, Jammu and Kashmir, at Ghanta Ghar, which is located near the clock tower in Srinagar. To celebrate the New Year, hundreds of people gathered at the clock tower. As the clock reached midnight, they danced to music in a lively and festive atmosphere at the famous “Ghanta Ghar.” Both locals and visitors to the Kashmir Valley attended the event and showed great excitement for the celebrations taking place at Srinagar’s well-known clock tower.
