KOLKATA: Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh said here today that people of West Bengal are ready to vote for Prime Minister Narendra Modi despite intimidations by Mamata Banerjee. Addressing a series of BJP workers’ meetings in different parts of Howrah and Uluberia Lok Sabha constituencies here today, Dr. Jitendra Singh said, Mamata Banerjee government has unleashed a reign of terror on the common people of this region. This has not only brought the progress and growth of West Bengal to a halt but has also institutionalised a culture of violence and corruption in day-to-day working. However, he said, the people are now wary of this, particularly when they compare the work cultue and the pace of development in neighbouring States. Appealing to the BJP workers, Dr. Jitendra Singh said, the manner in which the Modi welfare schemes have reached every household in one form or the other can be a great game changer in spite of the mischievous and unethical means used by All India Trinamool Congress(AITC). He said, certain sections of people may not say so openly or in so many words but they are acknowledging in their heart of hearts that under the Modi regime they got a pucca house instead of a kucha house, they got a toilet for their women folks and families and also got gas cylinders to get rid of the conventional cooking methods, even if they had in the past not voted for the BJP, and this is precisely what is now motivating their inner conscience. Dr. Jitendra Singh accused the Mamata Banerjee government of not allowing the Modi government schemes percolate to the last man and said it is important to bring an end to the hegemony of Mamata Banerjee and her party so as to ensure that the welfare programmes of Prime Minister Modi are delivered to the last man in the last queue. Dr. Jitendra Singh hoped that BJP workers will resist all pressures and fear tactics of TMC and return BJP in a majority of 42 Lok Sabha seats in the State in order to send out a message across the country that people of Bengal are part of the mainstream of the growth journey of Modi’s ‘Viksit Bharat’. During these meetings Dr. Jitendra Singh also discussed and chalked out chronologically the roadmap for the next 15 days of election strategy for Phase-5 polling for which the campaign ends on the 18th of this month.
