JAMMU: “People of Jammu & Kashmir have a natural connect with PM Modi” . Speaking to the media during the last-minute on-site inspection of the preparations for Prime Minister Narendra Modi‘s programme at Maulana Azad Stadium here tomorrow, Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh made this statement today. Senior representatives from the Indian government as well as a group of J&K UT administrators led by Divisional Commissioner Jammu accompanied the minister. “There is a huge amount of excitement on the eve of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Jammu tomorrow, with the people eagerly awaiting his arrival” , stated Dr. Jitendra Singh here. He claimed that almost all of the people living in the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory want to be included in the scheme.The Union Minister had just finished examining the plans for the Prime Minister’s event, which was scheduled to take place at the city’s M.A. Stadium. Officials from the security services and civil administration briefed Dr Jitendra Singh on the intricate and essential preparations being made for Modi’s public programme. “I am glad that both the society and the administration have got together to make adequate arrangements for it” , remarked the president. According to the Minister, attendees are travelling from all across UT, especially from eleven districts in the Jammu region. He told them that while those from nearby areas like Samba and Kathua will come at the site tomorrow morning, those attending the programme from far-flung districts like Poonch, Kishtwar, and Ramban will arrive in the city either tonight. Dr Jitendra Singh stated that sufficient preparations have been made for the invitees’ lodging, food, and hygienic needs in order to ensure their comfortable attendance at the event. According to Dr. Jitendra Singh, the Prime Minister would unveil initiatives valued at over 30,000 crore rupees. He claimed that the four ministers of the Indian government—the Ministries of Education, Civil Aviation, Railways, and Petroleum—had carried out these programmes.The Union Minister restated that J&K’s infrastructure development has been given top priority by Prime Minister Modi. He claimed that the fact that Prime Minister Modi established two AIIMS, IIM, IIT, and IIMC in the Union Territory is proof of how much importance he places on Jammu and Kashmir. Dr Jitendra Singh remembered that shortly after becoming prime minister, Modi approved the largest development package for J&K in the previous 70 years. According to Dr Singh, Modi faced a flood issue in Uttar Pradesh shortly after taking office and handled the crisis well. He claimed that in addition to providing the region with enormous financial and material support, Modi has also worked to remove psychological barriers by enacting constitutional amendments that were approved on August 5 and 6, 2019, which have aided in mainstreaming the UT.
