New Delhi, Jan 11: Beginning on January 31 and projected to remain until February 9, the Budget session of Parliament is the final sitting before the anticipated April–May general elections, according to sources. The interim budget will be presented by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on February 1, according to reports. President Droupadi Murmu‘s speech to the joint session of the two Houses of Parliament will kick off the session. The interim budget normally takes care of the fiscal demands of the intervening period till a government is formed after the Lok Sabha polls.
