Pak citizen Seema Haider questioned by UP Police’s Anti-Terrorist Squad

LUCKNOW : According to officials, Pakistani national Seema Haider, who entered India illegally in May and is currently residing in Greater Noida with her Indian partner Sachin Meena, was questioned by the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) of the Uttar Pradesh Police on Monday. The news comes a day after the Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad (UP ATS) detained a suspected Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) agent in Lucknow on suspicion of passing “vital information about defence establishments” to his superiors in the bordering nation. A little-known right-wing extremist group in Greater Noida has promised to stage a demonstration if Haider, a Pakistani woman who entered India illegally with her four children, is not removed from the country “within 72 hours” of the ATS’s questioning of her.Senior police officer confirmed that the ATS was questioning Haider on Monday and that local police were not involved. The officer stated that local police are independently looking into the situation and have not yet submitted a chargesheet. The Pakistani woman is being questioned by the ATS at the same time that a little-known right-wing extremist group in Greater Noida has vowed to stage a protest if Haider, who entered India illegally with her four children, is not deported “within 72 hours.”Senior police officer confirmed that the ATS was questioning Haider on Monday and that local police were not involved.
