Police station in Anantnag renamed after fallen DSP Dilbag Himayun Muzammil

SRINAGAR : The Mattan Police Station in Anantnag was renamed as the Himayun Muzammil Model Police Station by the Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday in honour of the DSP who gave his life in a confrontation with terrorists last month. In the presence of retired IGP Ghulam Hassan Bhat, the father of the deceased police officer, Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh officially opened the remodelled and renamed police station. Speaking to the assembly, Singh said that ever since Himayun Muzammil gave his life while performing his duty, the police had been attempting to associate his name with a location in the Anantnag area."Although his tenure was brief, he never wavered in his commitment to his duties. I can still clearly recall being there on the day of the incident. We were aware that several Army officers and our colleague were hurt. We did everything we could to ensure a prompt evacuation, but it was not possible."We are aware that he had conversations with his father and wife before to passing away. If he had been evacuated sooner, we were hopeful that his life may have been saved, but sometimes the circumstances on the ground make it impossible to achieve our goals. The choices we make in life might sometimes be made elsewhere, according to Singh. In the district's Kokernag neighbourhood on September 13, four security personnel, including Himayun Muzammil, lost their lives in a shoot-out with terrorists. The operation, which claimed the deaths of two terrorists and lasted over six days, also claimed the lives of two Army officers. UP Man Shot Dead By Terrorists In Pulwama

SRINAGAR: Terrorists shot and killed an Uttar Pradesh worker in Pulwama district on Monday, one day after they targeted a police officer, according to officials. In a post on X, a police spokesman stated, "Terrorists fired upon one labourer identified as Mukesh of UP in Tumchi Nowpora area of Pulwama, who later succumbed to injuries."According to him, the location has been sealed off, and the terrorists responsible for the laborer's death are being sought out. Terrorists shot and seriously injured police inspector Masroor Ahmad Wani at the Eidgah ground in the city when he was playing cricket with neighbourhood boys. This was the second terror strike in the Kashmir Valley in less than 24 hours. In the wake of the two terror incidents, security has been stepped up throughout the Kashmir Valley, particularly in Srinagar and south Kashmir areas, according to the officials. Following the attack on Inspector Wani, the security forces have increased their scrutiny of cars and pedestrians in various areas of Srinagar and other towns, particularly in the Pulwama district in south Kashmir, according to the officials.They stated that there are now mobile car checks at all of Srinagar's main junctions and the city's exits. A number of political figures have denounced the assault on the labourer and the police officer in the meantime. Ghulam Nabi Azad, the head of the Democratic Progressive Azad Party and a former chief minister of Jammu & Kashmir, has vehemently denounced the deliberate killing of an outside labourer in Pulwama. Leader of the People's Conference Sajad Lone warned that violence had returned even though he condemned the attacks. The curse of violence has returned. The killing of a worker in Pulwama today and the senseless cruel attack on a police officer yesterday show how desperate these vicious thugs are," Lone wrote on X.The leader of the Apni Party, Altaf Bukahri, expressed his deep resentment at the killing of an innocent non-local in Pulwama district in a post on X. The killing is completely pointless and will benefit no one. I hope the police find the offenders quickly so they can be held accountable for their actions. "A man was killed, and it doesn't really matter if the victim lived nearby or somewhere else in the nation. On the fringes of a Jammu party celebration, Bukhari declared, "We condemn the loss of an innocent life." According to him, there is no excuse for the brutality. The former minister declared, "The Apni Party will continue to highlight the public issues for peace and development in J&K. The Centre is the source of problem solutions." In addition, Bukhari voiced worry about the recent ceasefire breaches in the Jammu area of Arnia along the International Border, claiming they are an attempt to disturb the tranquil environment. "We will keep fighting to keep this place peaceful because the people of J&K want peace," he declared. ‘Will not go unpunished’: LG condemns killing of migrant worker in Pulwama

SRINAGAR : Manoj Sinha, the lieutenant governor of Jammu and Kashmir, denounced the migrant worker's death in the Pulwama area in south Kashmir on Monday. Old mortar shell found in Jammu

JAMMU, Oct 30: Choudhary Lal Singh, the chairman of the Dogra Swabhiman Sangathan Party, argued on Monday that Jammu and the Kashmir valley have radically different traditions, languages, and cultures, and he urged for the establishment of a separate state of Jammu. "Jammu ought to exist as its own state. Why are you (the federal government) unable to provide us our own state? Singh stated at a gathering in the Samba district. We don't dress alike, nor do our languages or cultures mirror theirs. He said, "Water does not flow from Jammu into Kashmir or vice versa.In acknowledgment of the Dogras' role in creating the state, Singh, a former minister in the Jammu and Kashmir government, remarked, "Dogras have not only shed their blood to establish this state but have also safeguarded India's borders." Our young people are currently defending the region from Siachen to Rajasthan after our predecessors bravely battled to create this state. He claimed that the politicians of Kashmir had seized the share of jobs that belonged to the people of Jammu and that they were accountable for the denial of Jammu's rights for six decades.Rulers in Kashmir have stolen jobs in addition to weakening Dogra culture. Over the last 60 years, they have taken advantage of Dogras. They hold grudges against us. They denied the people of Jammu their legitimate rights and disregarded Jammu's tourism potential, he claimed. Singh, who previously belonged to the Congress and then the BJP before leaving both organisations to found his own, declared, "If you stand by me for the next six months, we will bring about a revolution here."Singh highlighted the needless requirement for certifications and the BJP government's termination of widow payments.
