Assembly election results 2023: BJP’s 3-states stunner, Congress goes home with Telangana

NEW DELHI: The Congress, which took solace in a significant victory in Telangana, was taken aback by the Bharatiya Janata Party's dominating electoral display in the three heartland states of Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan. K Chandrashekhar Rao is lagging from one of the seats he is running for. The Congress deprived his ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi a hat-trick. The results of the elections in Mizoram, which was also held this cycle, will be known tomorrow. In order to honour the Christian-majority state of Mizoram's observance of Sunday, the Election Commission moved forward the counting process by one day. State of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the chief minister of Madhya Pradesh, who seemed to have been marginalised in the run-up to the assembly election, turned out to be the show stopper as the BJP easily defeated the opposition to record a massive victory.In the 230-member assembly, the party presently holds 165 seats, considerably ahead of the majority threshold of 116. With 63 seats in lead, the Congress is far behind. The BJP put up a great performance in the early leads, and Shivraj Chouhan, who is leading in his stronghold of Budhni by an astounding 51,000 votes, thanked BJP workers beforehand. The four-time chief minister attributed the success of the party to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The people of Madhya Pradesh have a special place in their hearts for our Prime Minister, Narendra Modi ji. Additionally, the state is vital to Modi ji. There is a great deal of faith in him. Chouhan, 64, said, "He held public meetings here and made appeals to people that touched people's hearts." The state of Chhattisgarh The BJP hopes to overthrow the Congress party in Chhattisgarh with a resounding win. With 55 seats to its advantage, the party is just a couple short of the 90-seat majority. In contrast, the Congress has an advantage of 32 seats. After trailing at first, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel is now ahead of his nephew and BJP candidate Vijay Baghel in the Patan constituency. Rajasthan In Rajasthan, anti-incumbency worked in favour of the BJP, albeit at the price of the Congress, as the latter is poised to seize the state from its competitor in keeping with the'revolving power door' pattern. The rivalry between party colleague Sachin Pilot and Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot appears to have compounded the challenges facing the Congress. Currently, the Congress leads in 73 constituencies while the BJP leads in 112 seats. Joshi, the Union cabinet's portfolio holder for Parliamentary Affairs, warned that the opposition would suffer worse outcomes than what has happened so far if it interferes with Parliament's next Winter session, which begins on Monday. BJP forges ahead in MP and Rajasthan, has edge in Chhattisgarh; Cong leads in Telangana

NEW DELHI: As the ballots were tallied on Sunday for the assembly elections that set up the contest for the 2024 Lok Sabha, the Election Commission reported that the Congress was leading in Telangana and the BJP led in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh. The four states' elections have primarily been a bipolar struggle between the BRS and the Congress in southern Telangana and between the BJP and the Congress in Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh. In Madhya Pradesh, where there are 230 members in the legislature, the BJP appears to be headed for a fifth consecutive term in office with leads in 143 seats and the Congress faring worse with 59.In Rajasthan, where the ruling Congress has always received alternating votes for the two parties, the BJP was also far ahead. The Congress led in 72 seats, while the saffron party led in 101, more than halfway. Due to a candidate's death, polling in one seat was postponed, and voting took place in 199 seats. In Chhattisgarh, which is dominated by the Congress, trends indicated a close race with the party leading in 28 seats and the BJP leading in 34. Seeking political rebirth, the Congress might unseat the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), led by K Chandrashekhar Rao, which was targeting a hat-trick victory in Telangana. In the ninety-member house, the BRS held leads in 29 seats while the Congress held 51 seats. At 8 am, the four states saw intense security and great anticipation as the counting got underway. Mizoram, the fifth state to have elections, will have its votes counted on Monday. Election officials announced that a three-tier security system has been implemented and that only those with proper passes will be permitted entry into the counting centres. "This will supplement the assistance that these families now receive. The spokesman stated, "The officers made a number of recommendations, which were highlighted and instructions were provided for their implementation.   [caption id="attachment_6616" align="alignnone" width="300"] DGP reviews welfare measures for families of fallen policemen[/caption]
