Pulwama, Dec 7: In the Awantipora neighbourhood of Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Thursday attached two residential buildings, including a double-story and a single-story home belonging to terrorists. The five brothers of one Khursheed Ahmed Bhat jointly own the two residential buildings.The notice of attachment from the NIA stated, "This is to inform the general public that a double-storied residential house and one single-story residential house under survey Nos 722,723 and 724 at village Chursoo, Awantipora, District Pulwama which are owned jointly by the Khursheed Ahmed Bhat @Khursheed Alam Bhat @ Surya son of Ghulam Mohd Bhat, resident of Bhatpora, Chursoo, Awantipora District Pulwama and his five brothers stand attached under the provisions of UA(P)A by the order of Hon'ble NIA Special Court Jammu dated 30.09.2023," the notice of attachment to the general public stated.In connection with the terror conspiracy hatched and operationalized by the offshoots of the banned terrorist organisations backed by Pakistan, including Laskhar-e-Taiba (LeT), Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Hizb-ul-Mujahideen (HM), Al-Badr, and Al-Qaeda, the NIA raided eight locations throughout Jammu and Kashmir earlier on Tuesday. Seven districts in Jammu and Kashmir—Poonch, Shopian, Pulwama, Baramulla, Ganderbal, Kupwara, and Srinagar—were among the locations that were searched. The residences of hybrid terrorists and Overground Workers (OGWs) connected to recently established affiliates and offshoots of the terrorist groups that are prohibited were among the raided locations.The premises of the cadres and supporters of these recently established organisations, which included the PAAF, Kashmir Tigers, The Resistance Front (TRF), Mujahideen Gazwat-ul-Hind (MGH), Jammu and Kashmir Freedom Fighters (JKFF), and United Liberation Front Jammu and Kashmir (ULFJ-K), were also thoroughly searched. The National Investigation Agency (NIA), which has been looking into the plot of the recently formed offshoots of the banned terror groups to destabilise Jammu and Kashmir through violent terrorist attacks and activities, seized several digital devices containing copious amounts of incriminating data and documents as a result of the searches. RAJOURI: According to officials, security forces found weapons and ammunition on Wednesday in the Budhal area of Rajouri district, following the revelations of two terror operatives. "On Wednesday, a joint search operation was conducted in the Behrote area of Budhal by a special operations group that included Rajouri police and 33 RR. After being detained on December 3 and 4, terror suspects Mohammad Farooq and Mohammad Nazri were brought to the suspected location, where security personnel found some weapons and ammunition, according to the statement. Among the items found in the seizures were a handgun, two magazines, thirty rounds, two hand grenades, a raincoat, a pistol pouch and a few medications. RAJOURI/JAMMU, Dec 6: On Wednesday, a bus overturned in the Jammu and Kashmir district of Rajouri, injuring 22 people, including 14 students, and killing one passenger, according to officials. The accident happened on the Rajouri-Jammu national highway close to the Radha Soami Ashram in Thandikassi village. SRINAGAR: While Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, recorded the coldest night of the season at minus 2.0 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature in Kashmir has further dropped. NEW DELHI, Dec 6: Following a recommendation from the Union Home Ministry, over 100 websites that supported task-based part-time job frauds and organised illegal investments were blocked. An official statement claimed that foreign actors were running these websites. Through its vertical National Cybercrime Threat Analytics Unit (NCTAU), the Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre (I4C), a division of the Union Home Ministry, last week identified and recommended blocking over 100 websites involved in organised investment and task-based part-time job frauds. Following this, the websites have been blocked by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), in accordance with the Information Technology Act of 2000, according to the statement. It was discovered that these websites, which enabled task-based organised illegal investment linked to economic crimes, were run by foreign actors and made use of chat messengers, digital advertisements, mule accounts, and rented accounts. According to the statement, international Fintech companies, card networks, cryptocurrency, and foreign ATM withdrawals were used to launder the proceeds from the large-scale economic frauds out of India. The Home Ministry launched the I4C initiative to address cybercrimes in the nation in a coordinated and all-encompassing way.
