Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the Congress, was seen filming the Trinamool MP with his phone while Kalyan Banerjee, along with other suspended MPs, were seen imitating the Vice President during the protest at Parliament's Makar Dwar. Following the adjournment of the House, Dhankhar noted the incident and stated, "Office of Chairman, Rajya Sabha and Office of Speaker is very different." The House reconvened at noon. Political parties will inevitably cross paths and engage in exchanges, but picture a senior party leader video graphing a member of the opposition party.imitation of the speaker and the chairman. How absurd, how deplorable, and how inappropriate." He subsequently adjourned the House until 2:00 PM. A protest was held this morning in front of the Gandhi statue on the grounds of Parliament by the suspended members of parliament from the INDIA bloc parties. Sonia Gandhi, the chairperson of the Congress Parliamentary Party, joined the suspended lawmakers as they chanted anti-Center slogans. At Parliament's Makar Dwar, the suspended members also staged anti-government demonstrations. The demonstrations took place the day after 78 opposition MPs from both houses were suspended for the duration of the current "Winter Session" for causing a commotion and interfering with both House sessions in order to press their demand that Amit Shah make a statement regarding the incident involving the breach of Parliament security. The 13 members who had been removed earlier and the suspensions made up the largest group of members ever removed from the Indian Parliament. The members will remain suspended until the panel produces a report. Because of their "misconduct" and disobedience to the Chair's directives, the opposition Members of Parliament were suspended for the balance of the Winter Session. 34 Rajya Sabha MPs from the opposition, including Congress leader Jairam Ramesh, KC Venugopal, and Randeep…

Opposition’s Goal Is To Throw Out Our Govt, Govt’s Goal Is India’s Bright Future: Modi

NEW DELHI, Dec 19: The opposition parties' protests in Parliament have angered Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who said on Tuesday that their actions will guarantee that their numbers decline further in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections while the BJP gains ground. In his remarks to the BJP Parliamentary Party, Modi also voiced alarm over "attempts" to downplay the security breach in Parliament, calling them just as concerning as the actual incident, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi told reporters. Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the Congress party, recently attributed the Parliament breach on December 13—which occurred when two protestors leaped into the lower house chamber and opened smoke cans—to rising unemployment and prices.According to the prime minister, everyone who upholds democracy and democratic principles ought to have denounced the events as a whole. As per BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad, "How can a party believing in democratic values overtly or covertly justify it?" he stated. The prime minister asked BJP members to exercise restraint and adhere to democratic norms, stating that opposition parties are shaken by their defeat in the most recent assembly elections and are disrupting Parliament in frustration.While the bloc parties in India are gathering on Tuesday to plan how to take on the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Modi stated that while their objective is to overthrow his government, his government's objective is to secure a prosperous future for the nation. After the meeting, he suggested that BJP MPs travel to border villages. JAMMU, Dec 19: Police said on Tuesday that as part of a special effort to monitor the activities of foreign nationals, they have filed three First Information Reports (FIRs) against nine Rohingyas and one Bangladeshi national for obtaining Indian identity documents—such as domicile certificates, Aadhaar cards, voter ID cards, PAN cards, and so on—illegally and for residing in the Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir. Police provided details, saying that following a thorough and discrete investigation into the illegal stays of foreigners (Bangladesh and Rohingyas) at different points in this district, a case has been filed under applicable legal provisions against the accused individuals, who are all residents of Myanmar and include Raheela Begum, Shakeela Begum, Jahan Ara, Meem Bano, and Muskan Banoo.Similar to this, a case against Rohingyas and their facilitators—Zavaira Begum, Shabnam Begum, Noor Bhar, and Zeenat Begum—all Myanmar residents, has been filed at the Gandoh police station in accordance with pertinent legal provisions. "After a thorough investigation, it was determined that these Rohingyas had entered the Doda district and had obtained Indian identity documents illegally in order to reveal their identity as long-term residents of the Doda district," the police stated. Additionally, a case has been filed against Nusrat Jahan, a resident of Dhaka who is of Bangladeshi nationality, and her accomplices for obtaining Indian identity documents and overstaying or violating visa regulations. "Police carried out house searches as part of an ongoing investigation and found incriminating materials, which are seized as evidence," the police stated.It is important to note that an investigation into each of these cases has been started in order to identify the government workers and facilitators who gave these foreigners Indian identity documents and other assistance so that those responsible could be held accountable. JAMMU: According to police, seven FIRs have been filed at various police stations in this city against individuals who are allegedly involved in giving Rohingyas shelter and government benefits. This was announced on Tuesday. A police spokesperson stated that after searches at various locations in the Jammu district, the police stations Satwari, Trikuta Nagar, Bagh-e-Bahu, Channi Himmat, Nowabad, Domana, and Nagrota received the filed complaints. According to the official, formal complaints have been filed against individuals who are alleged to have given refuge to foreign nationals and assisted them in obtaining government assistance. According to the spokesperson, searches were carried out in front of magistrates at the facilitators' homes as well as at various locations where the Rohingyas are housed. The official claimed that during searches, unlawfully obtained Indian documents were found, including bank records, PAN cards, and Adhaar cards, among other pieces of evidence. "An investigation has begun, and more information will be released later. All such defaulters will face severe consequences in the future, the spokesperson declared. Following the discovery of unlawfully obtained documents, such as Adhaar cards, during a crackdown against Rohingyas in the district, police in the Kishtwar district filed a case the previous day. At police station Dachhan, the case was filed under several sections of the Indian Penal Code, including 467 (forgery of important documents), 468 (forgery with the intent to deceive), 471 (using a forged document as genuine), and 420 (cheating). The Rohingyas are a Muslim minority from Myanmar who speak Bengali dialect. Government data indicates that over 13,700 foreigners, comprising of Rohingya Muslims and citizens of Bangladesh, have made their home in Jammu and other districts of Jammu and Kashmir. Between 2008 and 2016, the number of foreigners in these areas increased by more than 6,000. Terrorism considered ‘dirty word’ in J&K: CRPF

SRINAGAR: According to a senior CRPF officer, terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir is now viewed as a "dirty word" rather than a current fashion. "The most important thing for us to realise is that, in the current context, terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir is a dirty word; it is no longer trendy. ADG Nalin Prabhat of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) told reporters at Shopian that's why "they (terrorists) will be finished." According to the senior official, the moment a terrorist joins a terror group, he signs his own death warrant. "Anyone who joins a terrorist organisation or turns terrorist signs their own death warrant. The nation, the people, and God are all with us, so they (the terrorists) will perish," he continued.No matter how many ultras were active, according to Prabhat, they would all suffer the same fate. "How is the number of them relevant? Any number of them—two, twenty, or fifty—will be squandered. An icon cannot be a terrorist. The real icons are the children who grow up to be athletes, physicians, and engineers," he continued. ED issues fresh summons to Kejriwal in Delhi liquor policy case

NEW DELHI: Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been summoned by the Enforcement Directorate to appear for questioning on December 21, marking a significant development in the Delhi liquor policy case. This is the AAP supremo's second summons in relation to the case. The investigation team had previously called the chief minister of Delhi on November 2. He had, however, ignored the summons, citing obligations to governance and elections. Kejriwal responded to the previous ED summons by stating that it seemed to be "a fishing and roving inquiry" and did not specify in what capacity he is being called.The ED summons was deemed "illegal and politically motivated" by his Aam Aadmi Party, which also demanded that it be revoked right away. The AAP claimed that the BJP, which controls the federal government, gave the order for Kejriwal to receive an ED summons. This would be Kejriwal's second appearance before the ED, where he would be questioned by a central probe agency. In relation to the now-canceled Delhi excise policy, Kejriwal was questioned by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for approximately nine hours on April 16. The first prominent AAP figure to be detained by the CBI was Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia. The charges stemmed from alleged irregularities in the formulation and execution of the liquor policy, which was later rescinded due to accusations of collusion by the opposition.
