FASTags With Incomplete KYC To Be Deactivated Post Jan 31, Says NHAI

NEW DELHI, Jan 15: The state-owned NHAI said on Monday that banks will deactivate FASTags with a valid balance but insufficient KYC after January 31, 2024. NHAI launched the "One Vehicle, One FASTag" initiative, which aims to discourage using a single FASTag for multiple vehicles or linking multiple FASTags to a single vehicle, in order to improve the efficiency of the electronic toll collection system and provide seamless movement at toll plazas, according to a company statement. Additionally, it stated that NHAI is urging FASTag customers to finish the "Know Your Customer" (KYC) process on their most recent FASTag by upgrading KYC in accordance with RBI rules. The statement advised consumers to make sure their most recent FASTag's KYC is finished in order to prevent any trouble. “Only the latest FASTag account shall remain active as previous tags will be deactivated/blacklisted after 31st January 2024,” the notification read. FASTag users can contact the closest toll plazas or toll-free customer service number of their individual issuing banks for more help or inquiries. According to the statement, NHAI took this action in response to recent claims that many FASTags were given for a single vehicle and that FASTags were issued without KYC, which is against RBI mandate. Apart from this, FASTags are sometimes purposefully not fastened on the windscreen of the car, resulting in unnecessary delays at toll plazas and causing inconvenience to fellow national highway drivers. With over 8 crore users and a penetration rate of almost 98%, FASTag has completely changed the nation's electronic toll collection system. According to the announcement, the "One Vehicle, One FASTag" project would guarantee smooth and comfortable travels and assist toll operations become more efficient. "In the pursuit of sustainable development, energy access, energy security, low-carbon emission, economic growth, and prosperity, JAKEDA promotes the widespread adoption and sustainable use of all forms of renewable energy, including hydropower, solar, wind, geothermal, biomass, and hydrogen energy," the statement reads. Congress’ Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra Resumes In Manipur; To Halt In Nagaland At Night

Imphal (Manipur), Jan 15: The second day of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra resumed from Imphal West in Manipur in the early hours of Monday. After starting in Sekmai and continuing to Kangpokpi and Senapati in Manipur, the Yatra will come to an end at night in Nagaland. "Day 2 of the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra began bright and early at 7:30am with the traditional flag hoisting by Seva Dal at the campsite," stated Congress national secretary Jairam Ramesh in a post published on X today. Keisham Meghachandra, Manipur's PCC President, raised the flag. The yatra will go from Sekmai to Kangpokpi, Senapati in Manipur, and finally a nighttime stop in Nagaland.Supriya Shrinate, the party's social media spokeswoman, posted on X "We're ready to fight back against all injustices, shouting for justice." Will hear what you have to say about insecurity, crime, unemployment, inflation, and poverty And together, we shall find a solution. Rahul Gandhi, the Member of Parliament for Wayanad, and party chief Mallikarjun Kharge launched the yatra on Sunday from Thoubal in Manipur. Over the course of 67 days, the yatra will travel over 6,700 km and pass through 110 districts. Before the yatra began, the party's leaders and workers offered a quiet tribute to those lost in the state's violence. On Sunday, Rahul Gandhi stated that his party launched the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in order to guarantee justice for the people, who are currently going through a time of "great injustice" in the nation. It was questioned why the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra was held. It's because India is currently experiencing a time of extreme injustice. After beginning his yatra from Thoubal in Manipur, Rahul Gandhi remarked, "It is of all kinds - social, political, and economical." The leader of the Congress party also took a harsh stance against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating that it is "shameful" that the nation's leader chose not to visit the state riven by ethnic conflict and shed tears for the people."Since 2004, I have been involved in politics, and this was my first visit to an area in India where the entire system of governance had collapsed." Following his state visit on June 29, Manipur lost its identity, became divided, and animosity was dispersed throughout the region, resulting in the loss of thousands of lives. People witnessed the death of loved ones in front of them. Furthermore, the Indian prime minister has yet to visit you to hold your hand and wipe your tears. It's a disgraceful thing, Rahul remarked. Up until December 5, 2023, the number of daily cases had fallen to double digits; however, following the introduction of a new variation and the occurrence of cold weather, they started to rise again. In all, there are currently 92% of active cases that are being treated at home by specialists.According to the sources, "the data that is currently available suggests that the JN.1 variant is not causing an exponential rise in new cases nor a surge in hospitalisation and mortality." Three waves of COVID-19 have hit India in the past; the Delta wave, which is expected to peak in April–June 2021, is known to have the highest daily rate of new cases and deaths. Pilot Assault Incident: Legal Action Initiated Against Passenger Of Goa-Bound IndiGo Flight

New Delhi, Jan 15: According to the sources, the Aviation Security Agency has opened a probe into the claim that a passenger struck an IndiGo pilot at the Delhi airport as the pilot was reporting a flight delay. On Sunday, January 14, at about 1:00 pm, an incident took place within flight number 6E 2175, which was travelling from Delhi to Goa. Anup Kumar, the co-pilot, was seen hitting an irate passenger in a now-viral video as he was informing the passengers about flight delays. The guy was eventually identified as Sahil Katariya. Announcing delays is what the captain is seen doing in the video. The passenger approaches the skipper and gives him a face slap while sporting a yellow jacket.Immediately, a flight attendant who was standing next to the captain steps in to help him and tries to diffuse the situation by standing in front of him. Then, as confusion grows throughout the compartment, another man pulls the passenger from behind. The man causing the disturbance appears to be heading back to his seat while the flight attendant can be heard yelling, "You can't do this; you can't do this." The security agency announced that an inquiry has been opened into the widely shared video, which showed a passenger punching IndiGo pilot Anup Kumar during a delayed flight (6E-2175) from Delhi to Goa because of fog. After receiving a report from the airline, the Delhi police promised to take the proper action.According to the Delhi Police, Anup Kumar, the copilot of Indigo Flight 6E2175, and security arrived at the police station and filed a complaint about Sahil Katriya, a passenger, who had abused and misbehaved with the copilot on Flight No. 6E2175 on January 14, 24 from Delhi to Goa. He misbehaved while in flight, striking the copilot and causing disturbances within the aircraft. Anup Kumar, the co-pilot, has filed a complaint in this respect. A case under FIR no. 32/24 u/s 323/341/290 IPC and 22 aircraft rules has been filed based on a complaint, and an inquiry has been launched.According to government regulations on disruptive passengers, which were published in 2017, the pilot must file a complaint if the airline discovers that a passenger is acting belligerent. The complaint will then be looked into by an internal panel. The airline may suspend the passenger for up to 30 days while conducting the investigation. Within thirty days, the committee must make a decision and indicate how long the flyer can be prohibited from being distributed.
