Indian Army rescues stranded students, staff members of Rajasthan Law College in Banihal

BANIHAL: A number of Rajasthan Law College employees and students who were stuck in the Banihal section of the Jammu-Srinagar route owing to landslides, shooting stones, and severe snowfall were rescued by the Indian army. The troops bravely and selflessly saved the terrified students and faculty at Mohan Lal Shukhadia University's Law College in Udaipur, Rajasthan. On February 21, severe weather-related snowfall and landslide-related obstacles left a large number of passengers stranded along the dangerous NH44 roadway. Among them were 74 students and 7 faculty members from Mohan Lal Shukhadia University's Law College in Udaipur, Rajasthan, who were caught in the storm. Seeing how urgent the situation was, Army camp Banihal gave their evacuation top priority, protecting their safety and wellbeing. They gave food, warm shelter, and medical attention to workers and students who were trapped. Principal Law College's Dr. Kalpesh Nikawat thanked the Indian Army for acting so quickly and decisively. Labourer from UP dies under landslide on highway

RAMBAN:  According to reports, an enormous landslip that occurred on Thursday in Ramban district along the Jammu-Srinagar route claimed the life of an Uttar Pradesh labourer. The landslip has caused additional delays in the opening of the highway, which has been closed to new traffic for the previous three days. According to official authorities, a new landslip happened close to Seeri, Ramban. One labourer who was supposedly employed by a private construction company was buried beneath the landslip and perished while being taken to the hospital. They recognised him as an Uttar Pradesh resident named Desh Pal.Following the most recent landslip, they reported, the Highway—the only surface route connecting the Kashmir Valley with the outside valley—remained blocked. People are advised to avoid travelling on NH-44 until the road is clean. "Restoration work is in progress at Kishtwari Pather on Jammu-Srinagar NHW, it will take some time," traffic police stated. NEW DELHI: According to sources, the CBI searched 29 different places on Thursday, including the home of former governor of Jammu and Kashmir Satya Pal Malik, in relation to allegations of corruption in the Kiru Hydropower project.
