Tehsil Supply Officer detained taking bribe in Rajouri

RAJOURI: The Tehsil Supply Officer (TSO), Mohmmad Riyaz, was detained by the Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau on Wednesday after being exposed as accepting a Rs 18,000 bribe. In response to a complaint from a man who claimed that he had approached Dil Mohd, a ration dealer, to obtain a Below Poverty Line card for his brother, the ACB made the arrest. According to officials, the ration dealer and the complaint went to Tehsil Supply Officer Rajouri and presented the paperwork required for the replacement card. They said that TSO Reyaz held up the issuance of the BPL card and sought Rs 20,000 in order to speed things up. The ACB set up a trap and caught Riyaz stealing Rs 18,000 after the man complained about him to them, they claimed. The ACB officer reported that Reyaz was detained immediately and that his home was searched. The 21 carriages of the North East Express train derailed at 21.35 on Wednesday near Raghunathpur station of the Danapur division of the East Central Railway as it travelled from Anand Vihar Terminal, Delhi, to Kamakhya in Assam. Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of East Central Railway zone Birendra Kumar stated, "Information has been received from the local district administration that approximately 50 people got injured."The passengers were saved by neighbourhood residents and district governments, and those who were badly injured were sent to AIIMS Patna. He noted that there are railway personnel on the scene. Meanwhile, the evacuation and rescue efforts have been finished, according to Union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. "Rescue and evacuation are over. Each coach was examined. For their subsequent voyage, passengers will shortly be transferred to a special train, according to a post by Vaishnaw on X (formerly Twitter). JAMMU, Oct 11: A tax officer was detained by the Anti Corruption Bureau in Rajouri after he demanded a bribe of Rs 20,000 from a man in exchange for providing him a BPL ration card. The ACB claimed in a statement that it had received a complaint saying that the complainant had asked Dil Mohd, a ration dealer in Nambla, for his brother's BPL identification in order to obtain a separate ration card from his father. According to the statement, the Ration Dealer and the Complainant went to the Tehsil Supply Officer (TSO), Rajouri, and presented the necessary paperwork to have the job done. However, TSO Rajouri Mohd Reyaz delayed the issuance of the BPL ID and required the complaint to pay a bribe of 20,000 in order to do so.According to the document, the complainant filed a formal complaint at Police Station ACB Rajouri requesting that TSO Rajouri be sued."As the contents of the complaint establish a presumption that the accused public servant TSO committed the offence punishable under Section 7 of the PC Act 1988. As a result, an investigation was started and Case FIR No. 05/2023 was launched at Police Station Anti Corruption Bureau Rajouri under Section 7 of the PC Act 1988. A trap squad was established throughout the inquiry, and it managed to catch the accused Tehsil Supply Officer in the act of soliciting and taking a bribe of Rs 18,000 from the complainant."After completing all legal procedures, he was taken into custody immediately. After that, a search was also carried out inside the accused's home. The case is still being investigated, it states.
