JKP organizes ‘Run for Peace’ Kashmir Marathon in Srinagar

SRINAGAR: As part of its Civic Action Programme, the Jammu and Kashmir Police held a "Run for Peace" Kashmir Marathon event at the Lake View Police Golf Course on Boulevard Road in Srinagar. The marathon course, which was set for Monday, October 2, extended from Lake View Park Golf Course (LVPGC) to Duck Park via the lovely Nishat-Foreshore road. S.J.M. Gillani, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), opened the competition, which included about 3,000 athletes from all over Jammu and Kashmir. The event had 13 distinct divisions, and a lot of students, residents, and even wheelchair-bound individuals competed. Insha Basheer, a participant, commented on the occasion, saying, "All of us students are extremely thrilled by this initiative of J&K Police. We appreciate the effort being made to keep the youth in good physical and mental health. Additionally, it will aid in keeping young people clear of narcotics. Dilbag Singh, the Director General of Police for J&K, acted as the event's patron, and SJM Gillani, the Additional Director General of Police for J&K, served as the committee's chairman. As Jammu and Kashmir Police prepared to host the "Kashmir Marathon-2023," a Run for Peace event that gathered a varied population from all walks of life, the traffic police in Srinagar city issued a traffic advisory on Sunday. The Boulevard Road in Srinagar was briefly restricted to regular traffic on the day of the event from 5:00 AM to 9:00 AM in order to ensure the efficient flow of participants.The marathon is a long-distance foot race that can be completed on either paved or unpaved trails. You can run the marathon or use a run/walk method to finish it. There are several categories for wheelchairs. Suspected ISIS terrorist Shanawaz detained by Delhi Police

NEW DELHI: Officials said on Monday that Shahnawaz, one of the NIA's most wanted terrorists who is thought to have connections to an ISIS network, has been apprehended by the Delhi Police. According to them, Shanawaz had escaped from the Pune Police's custody and was now residing in Delhi. He was carrying a 3 lakh rupee prize. Shahnawaz, an engineer by trade, was apprehended by the Special Cell of the Delhi Police and is currently being questioned, according to sources. PM participates in Swachh Bharat campaign with Ankit who started 75-day challenge : Blending cleanliness with fitness

NEW DELHI: On the eve of Gandhi Jayanti, when citizens throughout the country took part in a cleaning push, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also took part in the Swach Bharat initiative. He was unique because he combined cleanliness and physical fitness. Ankit Baiyanpuriya, a social media superstar who initiated a 75-day rigorous challenge to instill a culture of fitness among young people, was introduced to Prime Minister Modi. In a video posted by PM Modi on his X page, participants in the Swachh Bharat campaign talked about fitness and cleanliness.On Instagram, Ankit has amassed 4.9 million followers. Close associate of 26/11 mastermind Hafiz gunned down in Karachi

OCT 01, 2023 : Mufti Qaiser Farooq, a close friend of Hafiz Saeed of the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), was assassinated by unidentified gunmen in Karachi, Pakistan. It is believed that Hafiz Saeed was the mastermind of the 26/11 strikes in India. Another preacher with ties to Lashkar-e-Taiba, Maulana Ziaur Rahman, died earlier this month after being shot dead by two motorcycle-riding gunmen while going for a usual evening stroll in Karachi. According to sources, Pakistani agencies are working hard to portray Ziaur Rahman and Mufti Qaiser as pious leaders with no ties to Hafiz Saeed and the LeT. Previously, the head of the Khalistan Commando Force, Paramjit Singh Panjwar, who was also connected to the ISI, was also slain.In February, Bashir Peer, the launch commander of Hizbul Mujahideen and a personal friend of Syed Salahuddin, was assassinated in Rawalpindi by unidentified gunmen close to the ISI offices and the military garrison. He was wounded by a close-range shot and died immediately. The military-industrial complex in Pakistan has become uneasy as a result of Pakistan's ISI moving some of its "assets" to secure areas in the wake of these recent assassinations. The ISI has relocated about a dozen of these people to'safe houses' that they have established. The earlier murders of two other Lashkar operatives, Abu Qasim Kashmiri in Rawalkot and Qari Khurram Shehzad in Nazimabad in September, made the necessity for vigilance in protecting these assets even more obvious. On September 12, local police allegedly found 11 cartridges, some of which were 9mm calibre, belonging to Rahman, a suspected terrorist connected to LeT. He had been using Jamia Abu Bakar, a seminary, as a front for his terrorist activities. He was working there as an administrator. The Pakistan Police classified the murder as a "terrorist attack," implying that domestic "militants" were involved. Investigators are also looking into the possibility that gang rivalry was a factor in the assassination. Rahman's murder comes after a string of assaults in Karachi on religious leaders who were all connected to terrorist organisations via the ISI and actively involved in radicalising and directing youths towards India. Azad dispels ‘rumours’ about being next LG of JK

Srinagar : Ghulam Nabi Azad, a former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir, on Sunday dispelled "rumours" by stating that he had no interest in taking up the position of lieutenant governor. The former leader of the Congress declared he was not looking for work but rather wished to assist the people of J-K. "I will ask people not to believe the rumour mills, which are operating at full capacity. There is a recent report going around that Ghulam Nabi Azad will take over as LG. Speaking at a gathering to commemorate the founding day of the Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP), which he founded last year after breaking with the Congress, Azad stated, "I have not come (to JK) searching for a job, I want to serve the people.Azad claimed that certain individuals were attempting to suggest that he was seeking rehabilitation. "I left two prestigious (Union) ministries—Housing and Urban Development and Parliamentary Affairs—when I arrived here in 2005 (as chief minister) to serve the people. In response to charges that he returned to JK politics at the BJP's request, he claimed, "It wasn't like I was without work. Azad claimed that the two primary issues facing Jammu and Kashmir are unemployment and inflation, which he wants to address by making the most of the area's tourism potential. "Inflation is rising. It is true that India is not the only country with inflation.The largest inflation rate is in Europe, but they have alternative strategies to combat it. We live in a poor state, and unemployment is rising. Jobs are nonexistent. Although government vacancies are advertised, no interviews are conducted. The parents of educated kids have spent all of their savings on their education, and the youth themselves have no jobs. According to the previous chief minister, tourism has the capacity to generate income for all facets of society. "One Tulip Garden (created in 2007) has given thousands of people a means of subsistence. In each district of Jammu and Kashmir, as CM, I had a plan to create 10 to 12 tourism attractions.He continued, "I had plans to give loans to people for the construction of homestay facilities that may give them employment prospects. Azad called the Centre's 2019 repeal of Article 370 and 35A a "great mistake" and referenced them. "Over a long period of time, there were some political errors that caused the state to move backward rather than forward. J&K Govt suspends 2 police officers

JAMMU: The government of Jammu and Kashmir suspended two police officials on Sunday. Gowhar Ahmad Khan, Additional Superintendent of Police for Budgam, is suspended with immediate effect in accordance with Rule 31(1) of the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1956, pending an investigation into his behaviour, according to a home department order.According to the order from the Home Department, Adil Mushtaq, Deputy Superintendent of Police, PID No. KPS 155772, shall be deemed to have been placed under suspension with effect from 21.09.2023, or the date of the Officer's arrest in case FIR No. 149/2023 under sections 7, 7A of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, and section 167, 193, 201, 210, 218, 221 of the IPC in P. The order also states that the officer must continue to be employed by Kashmir's Zonal Police headquarters during the suspension. Udhampur, Oct 1: An 84-year-old man from Udhampur in Jammu and Kashmir converts a standard bicycle into an environmentally friendly e-cycle that is powered by solar energy and electricity. In Udhampur, Jammu and Kashmir, 84-year-old Munshi Ram converted a standard bicycle into an electric vehicle. In order to create his e-cycle, he used old laptop batteries and e-waste, drawing inspiration from Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "Vocal for Local" and "Green India" campaigns. Many neighbourhood neighbours congratulated him and came to inspect his e-cycle at his home and business. Munshi Ram promotes sustainability and environmental friendliness by powering his e-cycle with both solar and electrical energy.
