SRK’s ‘Jawan’ crosses Rs 1100 crore mark at worldwide box office

MUMBAI: The producers of the suspenseful thriller "Jawan" starring superstar Shah Rukh Khan have reported that it has earned a total of Rs 1103.2 crore globally. On Friday night, the film's production company Red Chillies Entertainment posted the newest collection to microblogging service X. Along with a poster displaying the movie's overall box office haul, the post read, "'Jawan' Making & breaking box office records every day." On September 7, the Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu versions of the Atlee-directed film were made available globally. According to a press release from the producers, "Jawan" has crossed Rs 1100 crore at the international box office, making it the first Hindi film to do so in Indian cinema history. "In this, the India gross box office collection stands at Rs 733.37 crore and the overseas box office collection is Rs 369.90 crore," they stated. The film's producers also claimed that it had "strong feet in the domestic market" due to its net earnings from the Hindi-speaking region, which totaled Rs 560.03 crore. "The revenue from dubs in other languages is Rs. 59.89 crore. The movie has made a total of Rs 619.92 crore in India, surpassing the Rs 600 crore mark, and it is still expanding at a good clip, they continued. "Jawan" describes "the emotional journey of a man who is set to rectify the wrongs in the society" . Vikram Rathore and his son Azad are both played by Shah Rukh in this movie. Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Deepika Padukone, and Sanjay Dutt all make cameo cameos in the film. The cast is completed by Mukesh Chhabra, Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani, Girija Oak, Sanjeeta Bhattacharya, Lehar Khan, Aaliyah Qureshi, and Ridhi Dogra. Cong : Govt Forced Digitalisation In MGNREGA, Using It As Tool To Discourage Demand For Scheme

NEW DELH, Oct 7: On Saturday, the Congress said that the Narendra Modi administration "forced digitalization" in MGNREGA under the guise of transparency, using it as a tactic to deter people who actually needed the programme from applying for it. After a media report suggested that six months into the fiscal year, the major rural employment project, the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS), has run out of money, Congress national secretary Jairam Ramesh attacked the government.Ramesh said in a post on X that the MGNREGA budgeted amount of Rs. 60,000 crore for the entire year had been spent over the same six-month period while 48% of all vehicles sold in India between April and September of this fiscal year were SUVs. It also reflects the Modi government's aims, which Ramesh claimed are indirectly stifling demand for MGNREGA employment by excessively delaying salary payments. "This not only clearly indicates the deepening rural distress and rising inequality across the country, but also demonstrates the Modi government's priorities," he said.The Modi administration, he claimed, "has forced digitalization in the name of transparency, while actually using it as a tool to discourage demand for MGNREGA among those who genuinely need the programme." MeT : Rain, Snowfall Expected In Kashmir On Oct 9

Srinagar, Oct 7: Due to the rapidly moving Western Disturbance, the weather office in Srinagar has forecast rain and snow for the highlands of Kashmir starting on Monday. The weather is anticipated to clear up starting on Wednesday, and this disturbance will last just briefly. From Monday, the meteorological agency (MeT) anticipates precipitation over higher levels. The MeT reported on Saturday that "rain/snowfall over higher reaches likely at various locations in Jammu and Kashmir during October 9 evening/night with main activity on October 10(70-80% chance)".Snowfall is anticipated in certain higher elevations, including Zojila, Mughal Road, Sinthan Top, various other areas of the Pir Panjal Range, and the higher elevations of Gurez, Baramulla, Anantnag, and Kupwara districts, according to an independent weather forecaster. 3 labourers dead,5 critically injured as vehicle plunges into gorge in Doda

DODA: In the Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir, three labourers were killed and five others suffered critical injuries when the car they were riding in veered off the road and fell into a narrow valley. According to the officials, the workers boarded the van near Khellani and were travelling to their houses in the Marmat area. According to them, the accident occurred at 10.40 p.m. on Friday in Humbal village and led to a rescue effort by police and community volunteers. The rescuers said that three labourers, Mani Kumar (31), Karan Jeet Singh (40), and Lal Chand (45), were found dead on the ground. Five other people were found after being rescued with injuries; they are being treated at the Doda government medical college hospital. Inter-state fraudster charge-sheeted in Rs 28 lac fraud

JAMMU: A preliminary charge-sheet was filed against an interstate fraudster who allegedly defrauded a man from RS Pura of $28 lakh on Friday in a local court here by the crime branch's economic crimes division, according to officials. Upendra Singh Rudradeo of Chappra in Bihar has been named as the defendant. The accused was presently living in Rohini Sector-1 in northwestern Delhi and in Faridabad, Haryana. At Jammu's crime branch police station, a case has been filed under IPC sections 420, 465, and 471. "The fraudster duped a complainant Puran Chand of Gazipur Kulian in RS Pura area of Jammu district of ₹28 lakh after the accused posed as head of the Indian Cooperative Mission (ICOM) and lured the complainant to work with him in various projects of the mission," according to an official spokeswoman. "In January 2017, the accused defrauded the complainant by obtaining $28 lakh. The accused then sent the complainant a false project file from Indian Cooperative Mission (ICOM) and gained the complainant's trust so they could collaborate," the source continued. A special squad from the Crime Branch in Jammu captured the accused from Delhi after he had been missing for the previous four years. He was taken to Jammu and presented before a court to request his police remand for additional case investigation. The fact that the accused was wanted in more than 7 incidents of fraud and deception in Rajasthan also came to light during the investigation. The culprit was turned over to the Ajmer Police after the chargesheet was presented in court. "Process for recovery is ongoing as the accused's bank account has a debit freeze of $18.70 lakh. A deeper inquiry into the situation is currently being conducted, according to the spokeswoman.
