DC Jammu asks Medicos, civil administrations to promote Jan Aushadhi Kendras

JAMMU: Today, Sachin Kumar Vaishya, the deputy commissioner for Jammu, examined the operations of Jan Aushadhi Kendras, which are the establishments that supply the general public with reasonably priced medications in various hospitals and health facilities throughout the district. The DC examined the operational Jan Aushadhi Kendras' sales results and talked about the variables influencing them. He asked for reports on the kinds of medications, the quantity of prescriptions written, and other information, and he urged the officers to work together to increase the sales of medications through these channels.The DC directed the involved officers to find and fix the issues that prevent people from purchasing these medications and stated that the public and store owners alike must be encouraged to use these medications. Sachin Kumar requested assistance from the Sub Divisional Magistrates to assist the Block Medical Officers, who in turn were asked to keep an eye on these outlets' progress, sales, and provide him with feedback. LG reviews Power supply situation in J&K

JAMMU: Today's review meeting on the overall state of the power supply in the Jammu and Kashmir valley was presided over by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha. Senior officials including Dr. Mandeep Kumar Bhandari, Principal Secretary to the Lieutenant Governor, H. Rajesh Prasad, Principal Secretary, Power Development Department, and Santosh D. Vaidya, Principal Secretary, Finance Department, attended the meeting. In-depth talks were held on a number of topics to address the high demand for electricity in Jammu Division and Kashmir.In order to prevent any inconvenience to the public, the Lieutenant Governor requested during the meeting that the Principal Secretary of the Power Development Department, H. Rajesh Prasad, strictly adhere to curtailment plans, provide continuous, high-quality power in 100% smart metered feeders, and promptly replace any damaged transformers. In order to meet the peak demand for electricity, he said, the team on the ground needed to keep a close eye on the situation and act quickly. The Lieutenant Governor also assessed the state of labour, power infrastructure, and smart metre installation. RAMBAN: According to an official today, traffic will be suspended on November 24 and 25 in order to complete construction work on the national highway connecting Jammu and Srinagar. According to a spokesman for the traffic department on Thursday, the administration has mandated the traffic suspension in order to ensure the safety of drivers on the highway. "The District Magistrate Ramban, by order no., has directed NHAI to ensure the safety of the general public, travellers, and drivers.Traffic between Nashri and the NAVYUG Tunnel will be suspended tomorrow, Friday, November 24, 2023, (intervening night of 23/24) from 0000 hours to 0400 hours, and Saturday, November 25, 2023, (intervening night of 24/25 from 0000 hours to 0400 hours), due to ADMR/1508-18 dated 22-11-2023 for the launching of the girders at Nashri viaduct-1 (Nasful to Lucky Dhaba stretch), fixing of Jet fans at Perrah, and Tunnel T5. Vice President of the National Conference Abdullah wrote on X late on Wednesday, "I send my sincere condolences to the families of those who offered the ultimate sacrifice today, while condemning the continuing efforts to spread militancy into hitherto peaceful areas of Pir Panchal region."Mehbooba expressed her sadness over the deaths of police officers and military personnel while performing their duties. "GoI's deceptive false claims that everything is well in J&K are heartbreaking when one considers the officers and jawans who lose their lives while performing their duties. They, along with innocent bystanders who have been rendered collateral damage in the ongoing violence, are bearing the cost of this facade. Congress, PDP Protest Against Power Crisis In Kashmir

Srinagar, Nov 23: Leaders and members of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) protested against the electricity crisis in Kashmir on Thursday outside the party office, according to officials. Leading the PDP workers were Asiea Naqash, Abdul Qayoom Bhat, and Arif Laigroo. They attempted to protest the valley's lack of electricity at the start of the long winter season by marching from the PDP office near Sher-e-Kashmir Park here to Lal Chowk. Still, a posse of police officers stopped the demonstrators from marching past the nearby General Post Office (GPO) with signs and posters calling for an end to power outages. "Today's protest by PDP leaders and workers from Srinagar awoke the administration from a deep sleep." The escalating power crisis has brought darkness to Kashmir, according to PDP spokesman Mohit Bhan. "The J-K administration's incompetence is evident, and the residents are going through unending hardships. The people in charge don't seem to be aware that basic needs have been compromised, Bhan continued. Police stopped Pradesh Congress Committee employees from leaving their party office when they attempted to stage a protest against the power outage at Maulana Azad Road here. One of the demonstrators remarked, "Even hospitals lack electricity while they (officials) are spending money on driving around the town."
