Hope Result Will Be Better For Opposition In 2024 LS Polls: Mehbooba Mufti

Srinagar, Dec 3: Mehbooba Mufti, the president of the PDP, voiced optimism on Sunday that the opposition parties will fare better in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, given that the BJP looked to be headed for victory in three of the four states that just held elections. Speaking to reporters outside of a party conference in Kupwara, almost 100 kilometres away, Mufti stated that in the Assembly elections, the opposition parties would be up against the strength of the government, which included its investigative agencies, financial clout, and the Election Commission. "I hope that the opposition does better in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls than it did in these elections," stated Mufti, the former chief minister of the state that was then known as Jammu and Kashmir."The power of the government, its agencies, money, and the Election Commission is on the one side when elections are held today," she remarked. The Election Commission released trends showing that the BJP was in the lead in 155 of the 230 Madhya Pradesh seats, 54 of the 90 Chhattisgarh seats, and 111 of the 199 Rajasthan seats. Mufti stated she had travelled to Kupwara to address the issues of the populace and declined to comment on the postponement of the elections in Jammu & Kashmir. "I had come here to hear about the people's issues and sorrows. When asked about the postponement of the polls, she responded, "We will talk about elections at a later time."She also maintained that the People's Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) was a powerful organisation and denied rumours of internal strife within the group. "Minor altercations do occur, but the PAGD is robust," the spokesperson stated. Assembly Poll Results | “Minorities Are Not On Agenda Of Congress Now : Azad

Srinagar, Dec 3: Ghulam Nabi Azad, the president of the Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP), claimed on Sunday that the Congress, the state's oldest political party, is losing assembly votes because it does not include issues pertaining to minorities in its platform. Speaking to reporters after the Bharatiya Janata Party appeared to make significant progress in the assembly vote results in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh, Azad claimed that the Congress has failed to address the problems that minorities face nationwide."In the past twenty to twenty-five days, I've seen that the Congress, which was supposed to be the voice of minority rights, hasn't spoken about minority issues. Minorities are no longer on Congress's agenda. Azad, stated a former Congress leader. Defending its government in Madhya Pradesh and regaining power from the Congress in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh, the Bhartiya Janata Party looks to be pulling off a historic win to drive the Congress out of office in the three heartland states.The Congress party, which up until this morning had hoped to win Madhya Pradesh and hold onto Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan, is currently faring worse than the BJP in all three states. The Congress, which only has one Lok Sabha seat in MP and two in Chhattisgarh, will soon come to understand that it is now a party confined to the south of the Vindhyas and has lost all leverage in the Hindi Heartland. The Congress will be extremely concerned about the loss of the three heartland states since it indicates that no one is running for office in the upcoming "Caste Census" electoral onslaught.According to the most recent data available with the Election Commission, the BJP appeared to upset the established Congress party's applecart in Chhattisgarh, leading in 55 of the 90 assembly seats while the grand old party led in 32 seats. According to the most recent data available from the Election Commission, the Congress was leading in 67 seats in Madhya Pradesh, while the BJP was leading in 161 of the state's 230 seats. In Rajasthan, the BJP's candidates had taken 111 seats, while the Congress had 73 seats more. This marked the halfway point of the campaign. Telangana, which is about to establish an independent government, has provided the Congress with the lone glimmer of hope.By surpassing the halfway point, the Congress party in Telangana is poised to overthrow the Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS), led by Chandrasekhar Rao and in power since Telangana's statehood in 2014. Assembly election results 2023: BJP’s 3-states stunner, Congress goes home with Telangana

NEW DELHI: The Congress, which took solace in a significant victory in Telangana, was taken aback by the Bharatiya Janata Party's dominating electoral display in the three heartland states of Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan. K Chandrashekhar Rao is lagging from one of the seats he is running for. The Congress deprived his ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi a hat-trick. The results of the elections in Mizoram, which was also held this cycle, will be known tomorrow. In order to honour the Christian-majority state of Mizoram's observance of Sunday, the Election Commission moved forward the counting process by one day. State of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the chief minister of Madhya Pradesh, who seemed to have been marginalised in the run-up to the assembly election, turned out to be the show stopper as the BJP easily defeated the opposition to record a massive victory.In the 230-member assembly, the party presently holds 165 seats, considerably ahead of the majority threshold of 116. With 63 seats in lead, the Congress is far behind. The BJP put up a great performance in the early leads, and Shivraj Chouhan, who is leading in his stronghold of Budhni by an astounding 51,000 votes, thanked BJP workers beforehand. The four-time chief minister attributed the success of the party to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The people of Madhya Pradesh have a special place in their hearts for our Prime Minister, Narendra Modi ji. Additionally, the state is vital to Modi ji. There is a great deal of faith in him. Chouhan, 64, said, "He held public meetings here and made appeals to people that touched people's hearts." The state of Chhattisgarh The BJP hopes to overthrow the Congress party in Chhattisgarh with a resounding win. With 55 seats to its advantage, the party is just a couple short of the 90-seat majority. In contrast, the Congress has an advantage of 32 seats. After trailing at first, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel is now ahead of his nephew and BJP candidate Vijay Baghel in the Patan constituency. Rajasthan In Rajasthan, anti-incumbency worked in favour of the BJP, albeit at the price of the Congress, as the latter is poised to seize the state from its competitor in keeping with the'revolving power door' pattern. The rivalry between party colleague Sachin Pilot and Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot appears to have compounded the challenges facing the Congress. Currently, the Congress leads in 73 constituencies while the BJP leads in 112 seats. People Have Endorsed PM Modi’s Leadership, Rejected Congress’ False Promises: BJP

New Delhi, Dec 3: Following trends that gave the BJP an advantage in three states' assembly elections, the party announced on Sunday that voters had rejected the false promises made by the Congress and embraced Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership. According to polls, people believe Prime Minister Modi's "guarantee of delivering on guarantees," according to Union minister and Rajasthan election chief for the BJP Pralhad Joshi. In opposition to the Congress' platform of welfare assurances, the BJP has been promoting "Modi's guarantee." Joshi stated that the selection of the new chief minister of Rajasthan will take place "very soon and smoothly."Arjun Ram Meghwal, a Union minister and BJP politician from Rajasthan, claimed that Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot's "magic" had failed in the arid state. Regarding the vote results in Telangana, where the Congress was expected to win, Joshi stated that the BJP has to expand further in the state because the party benefited from the anti-incumbency campaign against the BRS. Joshi, the Union cabinet's portfolio holder for Parliamentary Affairs, warned that the opposition would suffer worse outcomes than what has happened so far if it interferes with Parliament's next Winter session, which begins on Monday. NEW DELHI, Dec 3: On December 6, leaders of the opposition INDIA group will gather at the home of Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge in Delhi to devise a plan for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, according to reports on Sunday. The leaders are expected to discuss and solidify their strategy to challenge the BJP before the elections during the evening meeting, they said. Before deciding on future strategy plans, the Congress was expecting the outcomes of assembly elections in five states: Telangana, Mizoram, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh.Voter tallying for the elections in Telangana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh commenced at 8 a.m. on Sunday. BJP forges ahead in MP and Rajasthan, has edge in Chhattisgarh; Cong leads in Telangana

NEW DELHI: As the ballots were tallied on Sunday for the assembly elections that set up the contest for the 2024 Lok Sabha, the Election Commission reported that the Congress was leading in Telangana and the BJP led in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh. The four states' elections have primarily been a bipolar struggle between the BRS and the Congress in southern Telangana and between the BJP and the Congress in Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh. In Madhya Pradesh, where there are 230 members in the legislature, the BJP appears to be headed for a fifth consecutive term in office with leads in 143 seats and the Congress faring worse with 59.In Rajasthan, where the ruling Congress has always received alternating votes for the two parties, the BJP was also far ahead. The Congress led in 72 seats, while the saffron party led in 101, more than halfway. Due to a candidate's death, polling in one seat was postponed, and voting took place in 199 seats. In Chhattisgarh, which is dominated by the Congress, trends indicated a close race with the party leading in 28 seats and the BJP leading in 34. Seeking political rebirth, the Congress might unseat the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), led by K Chandrashekhar Rao, which was targeting a hat-trick victory in Telangana. In the ninety-member house, the BRS held leads in 29 seats while the Congress held 51 seats. At 8 am, the four states saw intense security and great anticipation as the counting got underway. Mizoram, the fifth state to have elections, will have its votes counted on Monday. Election officials announced that a three-tier security system has been implemented and that only those with proper passes will be permitted entry into the counting centres.
