SRINAGAR: In Srinagar's Government Lal Ded Hospital, a guy posing as a doctor is reported to have examined female patients for the past three days. According to Deputy Superintendent of Hospital Dr Mimoona, the impostor was caring to patients in the hospital's extremely private labour suite, usually writing prescriptions for ECGs. She stated that the impostor had been given to the police. It is exceedingly challenging to understand how this bogus doctor entered the hospital's labour area among a big crowd of patients and visitors, the speaker claimed.According to Dr. Mimoona, this fraudulent doctor was caught yesterday ordering an ECG for every patient in labour and identifying himself as a cardiologist from the Shri Maharaja Hari Singh (SMHS) Hospital in Srinagar. She claimed that one of the medical professionals working in the delivery room had called to inform her about a bogus physician posing as a cardiologist and exclusively giving ECGs to patients. She claimed that when we enquired about this person at the SMHS hospital, they informed us that no such doctor had been sent there.She said, "The person was not looking mentally fit while talking to the security personnel. We called the security person of Jammu and Kashmir Police who were on duty and they took him to the control room where doctors remain who always question." She claimed that they had taken him away. According to reports, the police have called the person's family to the police station and are awaiting medical records to determine his mental state. MEA to Indians in Canada and those planning to travel there : Exercise caution

NEW DELHI: India warned its citizens in Canada and those considering a trip there on Wednesday to proceed with the utmost caution in light of anti-Indian actions taking place in several areas of that nation. Following Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's charges of a "potential" participation of Indian agents in the execution of Khalistani rebel Hardeep Singh Nijjar in June, the advise came amid a further worsening of diplomatic relations between the two nations. "All Indian nationals in Canada and those considering travel are urged to exercise the utmost caution in light of growing anti-India activities, politically-condoned hate crimes and criminal violence, " the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) stated in the alert. The statement read, "Recent threats have targeted Indian diplomats and Indian community members who oppose the anti-India agenda in particular." Indian nationals are consequently urged to stay away from areas and possible locations in Canada that have seen such events, the statement continued. According to the MEA, the Indian High Commission and general consulates would keep in touch with the Canadian government to ensure the security and well-being of the Indian community in Canada. According to the alert, "Indian students in particular are advised to exercise extreme caution and remain vigilant given the deteriorating security environment in Canada." Onus lies with Pakistan for creating conducive atmosphere for resumption of Indo-Pak dialogue: Omar

JAMMU: Omar Abdullah, vice president of the National Conference, stated on Wednesday that Pakistan is responsible for fostering an environment in Jammu and Kashmir that will allow for the restart of talks with India. ''This runs the risk of damaging a very strong bilateral relationship,'' he said, referring to Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's allegations of a ''potential'' involvement of Indian agents in the killing of a Khalistani separatist leader in Canada in June. Given the significant problems in the women's reservation bill, especially the timing for its implementation, the former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir stated that his party will not be able to unilaterally endorse it."We have always backed communication between India and Pakistan, but for the discussions to pick back up, a friendly environment is required. At the headquarters of his party in this city, Abdullah told reporters that creating a climate that is conducive to discussion is not just India's job but also Pakistan's. He stated that the happenings in Rajouri, Kokernag, and Srinagar cannot help in fostering the conducive environment required for the conversation in reference to the army and police officials who died in recent confrontations. He claimed that so far, he has not observed any action from the adjoining nation that would aid in fostering the favourable environment required for the talk."I constantly think back to the quote by A. B. Vajpayee, the previous prime minister, that you may change your friends but not your neighbours. No matter what we do, that nation (Pakistan) will continue to be a neighbour. However, he added, "that nation must strive towards creating a favourable environment before negotiations can begin. Abdullah, a former Union minister of state for external affairs, responded that if the Canadian prime minister had any supporting documentation, he should submit it to the world community when questioned about the assertion. ''He says it's based on an ongoing inquiry,'' he says. He should not have preempted the investigation's results by acting now; instead, he should have waited for it to be finished.The connection with Canada has always been extremely good, so if he has evidence to back up his allegation, I would humbly recommend that he share it with the international audience. Otherwise, his comment carries the risk of tarnishing a very solid bilateral relationship. Abdullah said, "That will be really sad. According to him, it will take at least 10 years to implement the women's reservation measure that was introduced into Parliament on Wednesday. The bill mentions delimitation and a census before it is put into effect. Therefore, there is no chance before 2029 and there is a strong likelihood that it would fail by 2034. Why call a special session of Parliament when we had to wait at least ten years to pass a measure is unclear. He suggested that it might have been brought during the winter session. Abdullah stated that they hoped the bill will be enacted quickly and put into effect right away. "This bill has flaws, and we will work to have those flaws fixed." I don't see how we will be able to support a bill that we feel still has flaws on our own,'' he said. He stated that the National Conference has always supported the dignified repatriation of Kashmiri Pandits and their subsequent rehabilitation.Who will object to it (the rehabilitation and return of migrant pandits)? You won't need to drag them back, I've always said. They departed from there (Kashmir) as a result of their sense of unease. They will return if you give them a sense of security again, he said. Moving them from one camp to another, according to him, is meaningless. The environment must be created so they return voluntarily and can reside wherever they choose. That is what we want to see, Abdullah remarked. [caption id="attachment_2970" align="alignnone" width="300"] Onus lies with…

Home Department rejects licenses of arms and ammunition dealers

JAMMU: The Home Department of the J&K Government rejected the application for an Arms and Ammunition Dealers Licence on Tuesday after concluding that it lacked merit and should not have been granted to Sanjeev Singh and Aditya Bhargav. According to a related order, the Home Department had received numerous requests for the issuance of new Sale and Keep Licences from the relevant District Magistrates prior to the publication of the Arms Rules, 2016, in this respect.The document continued, "These proposals were examined in accordance with the Arms Rules, 1962, which were in effect at the time, and it was decided that the decision on granting any new Sale and Keep Licence shall be taken only after analysing the number of existing/functional shops in the District and the number of fresh cases, in which applicants have applied for grant of Sale and Keep/Repair licence as would be obtained from the District Magistrates. Sanjeev Singh and Aditya Bhargav filed a writ petition in the High Court while the matter was being looked into by the Home Department, and that petition was dismissed on November 17, 2016, with instructions to the respondents Sanjeev Singh and Aditya Bhargav to give the matter consideration in accordance with the rules. The ruling further said that the petitioners misrepresented the facts before the High Court by failing to bring the altered legal situation regarding the issuing of the arms licence to the attention of the Court's attention. PDD employees to go on protest leave for 48 hrs from 25 Sept

JAMMU: Power employees have made the decision to take a 48-hour protest leave starting on September 25 in response to what they perceive to be the Government's lack of commitment towards their demands. This was stated to the media on Tuesday by Sachin Tickoo, head of the Jammu and Kashmir Electrical Engineering Graduates Association of the Power Development Department. He bemoaned the lack of noticeable progress on any of the issues mentioned in the protest leave notice delivered on August 24, 2023, and following the holding of a 24-hour mass protest casual leave on September 9 with participation from Junior Engineers to Chief Engineers and support from several associations of PDD in solidarity with JKEEGA."The Government has not kept its promises. Tickoo claimed that the PDD engineers were given step-motherly treatment by the appropriate authorities because there were over 750 open positions in the engineering hierarchy, including one Managing Director position, three Executive Director positions, six Chief Engineer positions, sixteen Superintending Engineer positions, 61 Executive Engineer positions, 132 Assistant Ex Engineer positions, 164 Assistant Engineer positions, and approximately 350 Junior Engineer positions.Other PDD employee leaders present at the press conference included Gurmeet Singh of the JKNGEEA, Tarun Gupta of the Provincial Power Employees Union, Ashiq Hussain of the Lineman and Workers Union, H D Singh of the Technical Employees Federation, Akhil Kumar of the PDL/TDL and other workers' Union. They gave unwavering support to the JKEEGA's call for a 48-hour period of total protest and a 48-hour period of no labour. In addition to Ankush Sharma, Rohit Gupta, Ankush Gupta, Vijay Sharma, Purshottam Lal Sharma, and Vipul Sharma, other JKEEGA Executive Council members Ashok Dubey, Rajeshwar Jamwal, Sunil Gupta, Jahangir Ahmed, Gulshan Bhagat, Yash Paul, Vishal Singh Chib, and Ankush Gupta were present at the press conference.JKEEGA has requested that the Lieutenant Governor of J&K step in and instruct the appropriate authority to approve the requests for the promotion and regularisation of the qualified officers by September 25.
