New Delhi, Aug 2: The opposition leaders met with the President on Wednesday to ask for her help with the Manipur problem.President of the Congress Mallikarjun Kharge has pleaded with President Murmu for more time on behalf of the opposition parties.
The BJP-ruled state in the northeastern region is under constant attack, according to the opposition parties, who are requesting the President’s intervention in the situation.
The opposition group meeting the President included several of the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) MPs who visited Manipur on July 29 and 30.While the ruling party wants a brief discussion on Manipur to which Union Home Minister Amit Shah will respond, the opposition is demanding a statement by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and a discussion under Rule 267 after suspending all other House activity.
