POONCH: A person was killed on the spot after a car skidded off the road and plunged into a gorge in the Seklu area of Mandi tehsil in Poonch district on Monday.
According to Station House Officer (SHO) Mandi, Neko Ram Thakur, a WagonR car bearing registration number JK12 6143 was travelling from Poonch to Mandi when the driver lost control of the vehicle near Seklu, causing it to fall into a deep gorge.
The mishap resulted in the on-the-spot death of Mohammad Zubair, son of Nazir Hussain and a resident of Seklu Mandi.
The SHO said the body was shifted to the Sub-District Hospital Mandi for medico-legal formalities. “After completing the required procedures, the body will be handed over to the family for last rites,” he added.
