SRINAGAR: The women change-makers of the UT of Jammu Kashmir were honoured in the 31st edition of “Awaam ki Awaaz” by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha. The Lt. Governor extended his warmest greetings on the auspicious occasion of Navratri and reaffirmed the J&K Government’s commitment to gender equality and women’s empowerment. “Goddess Durga is a representation of women’s emancipation. The Lt. Governor wished that the Navratri festival would motivate everyone to work for the advancement of Nari Shakti and the creation of a society that values gender equality.In this month’s programme, the Lt. Governor presented the inspiring stories of women entrepreneurs and emphasised the administration’s efforts to provide an environment that encourages female entrepreneurs and helps them reach their full potential. Ms. Rabiya Rasool, a businesswoman from Srinagar and the proprietor of the “Carpets” company, is a representation of conviction, devotion, perseverance, and unwavering courage. According to the Lt Governor, she is also bringing back the historic Ardabil style of carpets, which will encourage and inspire other young businesspeople. He praised Sanchaita Pradhan Khajuria and Mansi Gupta for their efforts to preserve J&K’s distinctive aesthetic and cultural heritage. Sanchaita’s business, “Shilpkari Bazar Business,” promotes Basohli and Bina art.He claimed that she is a tremendous source of inspiration and encouragement for all women. Mansi Gupta is a catalyst for change who encourages other women to take control of their own lives. The Lt Governor said that her business, MG Design Studio, is working hard to bring back the Samba art form of Calico painting. One of the primary programmes of the UT Administration that aids female entrepreneurs in rising and succeeding is the HAUSLA scheme. The Lt Governor said that it assisted numerous women, like Zariefa Hamid, Shivani Sharma, and Sanyokta Bhagat, in understanding the significance of the e-commerce sector and developing their company concepts. Zariefa Hamid’s business, Misal Embroidery, which produces Pashmina Shawls, has been able to attract customers from all over the world thanks to the support and help given to her. Today, Shivani Sharma uses technology to run her preschool. She is changing the operating and business paradigms with her creative ideas, he claimed. Sanyokta Bhagat from RS Pura overcome a number of obstacles to establish herself in the apparel industry, he continued.
