GANDERBAL: National Conference (NC) vice president and former chief minister J&K Omar Abdullah Wednesday removed cap from his head and appealed voters with ‘folded hands’ to elect him from central Kashmir’s Ganderbal Assembly seat. Omar who filed nomination from Ganderbal today appealed people to give him a single chance to serve people and elect him from Ganderbal in the upcoming Assembly elections of Jammu & Kashmir. Ganderbal is all set to go for polls on September 25. The Election Commission of India (ECI) had announced three-phased schedule for Assembly elections of Jammu & Kashmir. The polling shall take place on September 18, & 26, and October 1, while the vote count will be done on October 8. “Today I want to say only one thing. My cap, my turban and my honour are in your hands,” Omar in an emotional tune appealed to party workers after filing nomination for Ganderbal seat. He requested party workers to give him a ‘single chance’ so that he will serve people of the Assembly segment in true sense. “Today I am requesting hand-folded to you to reach out to every door for my success in elections,” Omar said. He urged party workers to hold single rope and keep faith in Allah to achieve success. “If we hold a single rope, and keep our belief firm on Allah, success is surely ours,” Omar held. Omar when removed his cap from the head and was appealing party workers to respect his honour in the upcoming Assembly elections, the meeting reverberated with party slogans, even some party workers were seen crying.
