BUDGAM: Omar Abdullah, vice president of the National Conference, stated on Wednesday that the four government employees who were fired in Jammu and Kashmir for the “interest of the security of the state” had the right to appeal. He also mentioned that the legal principle of innocence holds that an accused person is presumed innocent unless and until they are proven guilty. “The ability to appeal should be granted to fired employees. Everyone is entitled to an appeal and, according to the law, is innocent unless and until proven guilty.” Speaking to reporters in Budgam, Abdullah stated. The “interest of the security of the state” led the Jammu and Kashmir administration to terminate the employment of four public servants, including a doctor.According to the order, it is not necessary to hold an inquiry in each of these cases for the sake of the state’s security, according to the Commissioner/Secretary of the General Administration Department of the Government of Jammu and Kashmir. “Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha, after considering the facts and circumstances of these individual cases and on the basis of the information available, is satisfied that the activities of the following persons are such as to warrant their dismissal from their service,” the order reads. The four government employees are Dr. Nissar-ul-Hassan, Assistant Professor (Medicine), SMHS Hospital, Srinagar; Abdul Majeed Bhat, a constable in the Jammu and Kashmir police; Farooq Ahmad Mir, a teacher in the Higher Education Department; and Abdul Salam Rather, a laboratory bearer in the Higher Education Department. The government has invoked 311 (2) (c) of the Indian Constitution to dismiss the four employees. The directive that was issued on November 21 will go into effect right away. The four government officers were fired in accordance with J-K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha’s “zero tolerance against terrorism” policy.Three state workers were fired by the Jammu and Kashmir government in July for allegedly having ties to terrorist groups supported by Pakistan. The Union Territory administration has fired over 50 workers who were receiving government salaries but were purportedly supporting terrorist organisations with a base in Pakistan over the past three years by invoking 311 (2)(c) of the Constitution.
